Christmas and Market Friday: A Match Made in Heaven

Christmas! It is borne in ones heart! The glow, its warmth, my soul is entrenched in its very being. Everything about this time of year feels special, and it makes me want to focus on all that is good, and the rest just fades into a blur.

Perhaps it is not so much Christmas itself, but, the feelings invoked. The Peace on Earth, Goodwill towards man. I can feel it, or perhaps that is my inner soul refusing to believe that it cannot be. For who would want anything different? In keeping with the spirit of the day, I think we should walk through the Christmas store, at least once or twice more, to share the vibe and maybe even embrace the oncoming feeling of love. Watch out! It is liable to sneak up on you and catch you unaware.

I feel like it is displaying very Victorian in looks, the tree is stunning, but, possibly a little too fussy for the modern day house? Perhaps displayed in a formal living roomor perhaps library, but, then what would be the sense of having a magnificent tree that you could only visit from time to time? I think I like the tones of white, with a flash of goldrunning through her boughs of green.

I shall blow the wind of joy your way. Inhale deeply, my friends. Let us bask in the warmth of the seasonal joy. When it is over, we will still be warmed by it, carried over into the New Year. Hark! I hear an Angel sing! Do you Hear what I Hear?

There is no shortage of angels here. The shelves and mantels are heavily adorned with the seasonal decor, often fitting a few of these in. Angel means messenger and the angels played a key role in the Christmas story.

They have changed the entire store again, as the trees and ornaments disappear into the shopping trolleys, they rearrange and put new merchandise up to give it that winter wonderland look. I am not sure if I have said this before, but, when you like an ornament, you just take it off the tree, so these trees you are looking at are sometimes only half decorated. They usually leave a few boxes of ornaments under the tree, looking a bit like gifts. When one is taken off, another is put on.It has worked well for them for years. With the exception of Macy's, who, once upon a time. were king of Christmas, this place ranks up there as top notch with the way they set up their entire store, all season long.

We are so close to Christmas at this point, I can almost smell it. Can't you? My stovetop is simmering with oranges, clove, vanilla, cinnamon and a few other things. It wafts through the house. Now is definitely time to breathe deeply. The Christmas countdown is making good time. Officially, there are 7 days, 23 hours, 32 minutes and 12 seconds. I give you the Christmas countdown and one Christmas photo. It is amazing to me how time flew once Halloween pumpkins were put away. Don't tell anyone, but, I still have one on the porch. Okay, two. I will be taking them out to the horses tomorrow or Saturday. They love them!

I promise not to hold you hostage for the entire year with a Christmas countdown. Not until at least, let me think... what is fair?

Thanks, JJ! @tattoodjay I don't even buy things here, well once in blue moon, but, it is rare. I like looking but do not need to own it. It puts me in a great Christmas mood, even more than I already am!

Isn't that bear hilarious!? He is coming home with the other angel. :) Not really, but, it would be fun!

And are so busy with Arlington part two and other things I do understand

Finger is improving nicely can now bend it about half way it a little more so getting there still twinges if I bump it and it’s moved sideways but that will pass and I am being sensible taping it when doing things that may aggravate it, and also at night

This is definitely a shop to your liking and is perfect for pre... pre-Christmas posting. I was sure this is how your post would be, with perfect photos of perfectly decorated trees. It can be a source of inspiration for decorating them at home.

It is to my liking and funny enough, many people crowd it to enjoy the ambiance! To be honest, the pictures are far from perfect, but, the sentiment is very real. Can you believe that you shop off the trees? If you see an ornament you like, you take it off the tree and buy it. So, it surprises me that the shop stays so neat.

It does give ideas for at home. Nothing so grandiose or ostentatious, but, it helps direct me. :)

Such a lovely Christmas shop Denise, it had a touch of style. I love the idea of keeping the stock in a wrapping box under the tree, beats boxes everywhere like I saw at Christmas Galore on the Gold Coast.

I wonder if you guys get Christmas trees cheaper after a certain time.
I just saw a real tree at a supermarket going for half price today.

The day before, maybe. But, not a day before. Some people put their tree up Christmas Even, or right before. I have seen some tree lots that abandon the lot if they are almost sold out as it cost them more to stay there than the loss of two or three sales.

Yes, quite similarly here in Chinatown when they used to have Chinese New Year market, the stuff prices are cut a lot on the eve and after midnight, many are just dumped.

Yes!!! You shop directly from the tree. Crazy, isn't it. Yes, it always looks so nice! I wanted to take the bear waiter home, but, I just don't drink enough to need him. :)

Just curious, is this just a Christmas store or do they do other stuff too? We have some stores like this around us, but really they are mostly nurseries. So in the Spring and Summer they have plants and garden stuff. Then around the holidays they switch over. I usually only visit them around planting time to get my vegetable plants. My wife and I are pretty minimalist.

It is a garden/landscaping shop (Nursery! Yes!)That is their exact setup also. I visit them at planting time and even though I don't buy anything (very rare) I stalk their shop because it makes me feel festive and they are always changing it around.

I sometimes stalk them with the plants too. Get ideas on how/where to plant or what to plant.

I am a semi minimalist living in a body that seeks opulence and beauty. I like to look at it, but, I don't need to buy it. :)

That makes a lot of sense about the store. It is fun to see how they stage everything. It's amazing how creative some people are. I would probably be less of a minimalist if it wasn't for my wife. I tend to hold onto stuff. She see things as just more places for dust to collect!

These are all such wonderful photos Denise!! They definitely help to set the Christmas mood! I love the colorful Christmas lights and that bear gave me a laugh which I very much needed..so thank you! 💕

Oh, your Cracker Barrel one is a legend! I loved it, so the thought of going back makes me smile, but, I will surely hop in the car with you to the Bass Shop! I am so glad it could lift your spirits, even a little. That is what the Season of Joy is all about, yes?

The bear was one of my favorites too, and I love how well they decorate and keep it so nice. You shop right off the trees, so it is amazing it always looks nice!

Thanks so much Denise!! Ellicott City used to have shops that decorated very nicely for the holidays but I haven't been back there since the last really bad flood. My stroll through your shop reminded me of my visits there close to the Holidays. I didn't get a chance to visit Valley View Farms this year as well .. but perhaps I will get a visit in next year.
