After all the celebrations we had last week with our anniversary and the long weekend outings, hubby has been down with cough and cold. It looked like viral and the effect of exertion. For 2 days we took it lightly and got the normal cold and flu medicines suggested by his office clinic doctor. But then yesterday his condition went down further, he was having difficulty in breathing. We decided to visit the hospital. He has a medical history so I cannot take any chances with his health.
We went to the hospital where we know one of the Doctors, I felt it would be good to go with someone known, but it was a mistake. Before meeting the Doctor, the hospital does some basic vital tests, during that time only they decided that he should be hospitalized, and I was in a shock. Why would they want to admit him in the hospital for a viral. I told them clearly No, I have no intention of getting him admitted. After which they gave him nebulizer treatment and then we were to go and meet the Doctor.
On meeting the Dr. it was the same thing again, they were pressurizing us on getting him admitted. It was getting tough now to stand up against them and say No. The doctor told me that he has severe congestion and hence admission was required. But I still did not want it, because this is something that can be treated at home, and I have all the necessary equipment's like the nebulizer, steamer, oxygen and pressure monitoring, so checking his vitals I can manage at home. They saw we were not agreeing for hospitalization, so after that they asked us to do ECG. Again I was wondering that for Viral why do they need ECG, but then we went ahead and got it done.
The ECG graph was given instantly, the doctor checked and put us in panic mode, he told us that his heart condition is very bad and he needs immediate hospitalization. At first I got very nervous, but then I gathered my courage and told them no hospitalization. If it is bad I will take him to Mumbai for treatment because there the doctor knows his full medical history. And by this time I realized that by hook or crook they were wanting him to get admitted in the hospital. And I know, once admitted then they can put him under anything and it would be very very difficult for me to refuse. They made me sign a declaration form saying that I am taking him home at my risk. I prayed and signed it, just hoping that my instincts and decisions were right.
After reaching home, I sent the reports to my Son, who also practices functional medicine, and to my friend who is a general physician telling them the whole story. She referred the report to a cardiologist and he told us that the report was not normal, and at the same time there was nothing to panic. And based on that report no decision can be made, we have to get proper cardiac related test done to see the condition, which is called the Trop I test. I was feeling little relieved and at the same time anxious, what if something goes wrong.
Through the night he did not sleep well, and my anxiety level was also going up. Today morning he went to office, because there were some urgent matters to close if there is any situation of travelling to Mumbai. He showed the report to his office clinic doctor, and he also mentioned the same that there was nothing to panic. The congestion was too much, which is causing irregular breathing and also he is overweight, especially around the belly, so with all of that there is some impact on the ECG result, because while doing the test his sitting position was also not comfortable. And with more test we can confirm if there is really a cardiac problem or not.
Anyways I am not relaxed with this, we will be visiting the hospital again for doing these suggested tests, and this time to a different hospital and then once the test report come I will get to know if there is a serious issue or not. I am hoping for the best. I was pissed off last night, with that hospital people attitude. They are newly opened hospital and I have heard quite a few such cases, that they just push everyone for getting admitted. But I thought that since I know the doctor personally, he would not do the same with us, and I was wrong.
Thank you for visiting my blog. 👼🏻👼🏻💖💖🌹🌺🌸

Oh, that is so stressful. Sorry that it happened to you guys. It is tough not knowing if you can really trust the doctors.
After reading this post about potential heart issues, I saw your comment and thought it was from cardiac-coconut until I looked at the name a second time. 😆
They indeed put me in a very stressful situation. I was scared while signing that paper, what if my decision is wrong. But from his condition I did feel that hospitalization was not required on immediate basis. They tried to create lot of panic. Anyways now we will travel back to India and get medical attention for him there. It will be better that way.
Thank you for your concern Linda
Take care dear. There is no occupation left which works on ethics and morale.. Everything is just business to them. Wishing your hubby a speedy recovery. Take care.
Thank you for your care @gungunkrishu.
Medical profession is the best booming business :-(
That's sad, at least he should have cared for the personal relationship, with proper guidance. Hope everything comes fine, it's very difficult to not fall in trap now a days, once admitted, they can do whatever they want.
That was the most upsetting part. Rather he did the opposite, he tried to corner me and put me in a spot. And in a foreign country if something goes wrong, first of all they have zero liability and I cannot do anything against them.
