My Meat Cooking Adventures Continue: Heritage Breed Pork Loin Chops

These are from Butcher Box again. I've been very happy with my first shipment from them, and it's not just because I get free bacon for life. I seared these in a cast iron skillet and then finished them in a 300ºF oven. It's been raining quite a bit here, or when it's not, it's godly hot and humid. I'll be out grilling again in no time, though.

Generously seasoned with Penzey's pork chop seasoning. Penzey's makes great spices, and their headquarters happens to be like a mile from my house.

These chops were higher quality than what I can get in most of the supermarkets near me.

I finished the chop but left some of the kale and mushrooms. :)

I love food but meet food always comes first for me

Ooo...I love buying and cooking pastured meats where the animals lived out good lives and ate good food. Definitely tastes different and I feel more enlightened knowing I'm supporting local farmers and eating meat that was raised like in the past. Although I would have to say it's so easy going to the supermarket to buy meat that is way cheaper and bigger in quantity. Gotta get that out of my head that bigger and cheaper is not always better.

That looks perfectly seared

I appreciate that. I'm still very new to cooking meat. :)

It looks very delicious I want to taste that delicious food

That salad make me hungry, looks great @marksheppard.

Thanks so much! That part was good. Lots of garlic with the mushrooms and kale, with just the right amount of salt & pepper, and it's perfect.

I am a non-vegetarian and i love this food, this food is really delicious.

That looks so delicious, makes me hungry!

Sure

heritage breed pork. it really mouth watering food.. please give some idea about cooking .

I'm probably a bad person to give advice. I am very new to cooking meat. My suggestion would be to look up what you want to cook on YouTube and watch a couple videos of more experienced cooks giving their advice. That's what I did, and it has worked out well for me.

What I did for this meal was pre-heated a cast iron skillet until the point that it was smoking. Very very hot. Then I added some olive oil, and seared the chops for a couple minutes a side, and about 30 seconds on each edge. After that, I put them in a pre-heated oven (300ºF / 149ºC) for about 10 minutes, or until the internal temperature was 145ºF / 63ºC. After that, I allowed the chops to sit for about 5 minutes, and then enjoyed.

thank you.
