Robotic Human or Human Robot

in #busy7 years ago (edited)

This time i decided to talk about a serious matter regarding humanity today. I'm not a scientist, but i don't have to be one to discuss such a sensible matter.

While reading this, i want to ask you to do something... Please clear your mind from the daily activities and schedule. To fully receive my message, you have to focus entirely here. It will only take a few minutes. Stay with me.

My posts are always actual issues or matters and the topic i am choosing today, has been an actual issue recently.

Ok. So, i bet most of you have a clear schedule which runs throughout the week and ends probably in the weekend, or for someone like me it never ends (even on sleeping hours).
I am a father and so taking care of my little baby boy is my duty, my job and should be a pleasure, but it isn't. Don't get me wrong here. But somehow it's true. I was translating the other day, which i do everyday as a freelancer on my second job in order to support my family. I had a deadline to follow but my son wanted to play. Now would you say my deadline was more important? It isn't, right? No matter how robotic i was to follow a strict schedule, emotion is what makes us human, so i had an emotional reaction to my impossibility to assist him in his game (he is 1 years old). I had to watch him saddened and keep on with my work. That wasn't the only case, but it made me reflect. We are working so hard to build robots which would be as human as possible, and reducing our human nature on our daily life, as much as possible.

(my text was not taken from this link or from any other link. I am not the author of the link, which the only reason i shared was to illustrate my content)https://edition-m.cnn.com/2016/09/24/world/robot-morality-machine-ethics/index.html

Aren't we possibly following the wrong tracks here. Imagine how difficult it is for us to drop what we are doing right now, whether in office for some of you, or on site in my case. I imagine sometimes while in bus, to jump down on the next station, take the bus back to home again and focus on the lives i really care about.
No, i don't blame my job. I don't blame any job for that matters. I blame the system! I mean are we working to live or are we living to work? This is the biggest dilemma of today's humanity.

The sequel's topic will have me talk about the Modern Slavery. Enjoy the rest of the week and if possible, get rid of your junky working time and share more time with your families, friends and loved ones. See you on the next one.

I say this often! Never work so much you forget to live. Because whats the point, if you dont get to enjoy the little things! Your head and heart are in the right spot. Keep on, keepin on! :) -@smylie2005

First of all thank you for all your support so far. I feel great to have found this community and to have learned how to blog because as i have explained before, i am a newbie not only on steemit but also on blogging. I feel honored that my messages are well received. To experience something, it is easy. To share it, not so easy, because context must be arranged so that it is appealing to the larger public. I hope it was well transmitted to the community. Have a great weekend ahead.

so happy to hear you're enjoying blogging for the first time - we're all loving your posts @triplef! Keep em coming! 😊

Thank you so much for your endless support. I definitely will. I have a topic in hand, which i announced here. I will release it soon. I missed the "pay it forward" last week, but hopefully i won't miss it this week. Have a great week

Hahahah hilarious, thanks for your service.

That is exactly why I haven't been around Steemit as much. I have had a lot of family at the house this week. Especially enjoying the 2 year old.

Well that's great. Don't worry about it. I have taken some time off myself, after the hard schedule of the last 10 days. Enjoy Sunday

I guess it is kind of ironic now that you mention it! We've been saying for centuries that various labour saving devices will give us more free time, but this situation always seems to be 'just around the corner!'

Karl.

It is exactly what i was thinking. We develop science to facilitate but end up loosing all our time and never seem to reflect about it. It's a shame what we have become, merely half robots half humans not able to use this huge development in our favor, but instead we are driven towards the loss of time and all that's important around us. Sometimes we can't even enjoy the sun rising or setting for weeks or months. Instead we are in front of some screens.

Especially in always-on work environments. I guess tech is very much the same as teaching in that way... difficult to switch off, always something YOU COULD be doing, and then of course there's 'stacking' - I'm settling on the view that 'windows' and multi-screens are quite detrimental to my mental health!

And addictive of course... I actually struggle these days to go a few hours without screens. I force myself to, but I never used to have to make an effort to do this.

I often suffer from that type of addiction. I thought i was one of the few but apparently it is a widespread issue. I wonder how can we ever get out of it and start rationing our time on screens and start using it more on our loved ones. I often have headache from too much screen time, whether pc, laptop or smartphone. Thank God my full time job forbids its usage and that's the only time of the day i can finally feel freedom. We are prisoners of our own mistakes. Will we ever learn...!

No it is very common! TBH I think the solution is just self discipline and a strict offline timetable!

Hi
I like your post because it makes my think about my life and how often do I sacrifice fun with family to do my job. I think its something adults who have family to support do all the time. I was always taught that a job is the life support system for your life, but it isnt your life. Remember to live your life. I think many of us have forgotten. Thank you for reminding me. I am looking forward to your next post about a related topic.

Dear @shortsegments . Thank you for adhering to the main message of this post. We often get caught by the situation and forget what really counts the most. I have been trying for three days now to make my new post, but something always comes in the way. This is the longest i have been without posting here. I do read and reply the comments though so please keep em coming on my future posts. I wanna know the opinion and criticism of other people. Thank you

I follow you and noticed that I hadn't read anything from you recently, but then you write something good, so it was worth the wait!
Hopefully we both will reach a level of success here where we have more freedom to enjoy life.
Hi @triplef, @shortsegments

Thank you so much for checking my posts. I have checked your posts too. Very interesting. I like the fact that they are multilingual. I have many articles i could write but it's hard to find the time.

Thanks I appreciate the feedback. I am trying to spread knowledge of crypto regardless of language.
