Writing mediocre, boring content can be good

It's just a part of the process.

Something that you probably already know is that as you grow, you get to experience and learn things that others already experienced and learned, things that others already wrote about again and again, things that might not be as unique as you might think.

This in theory, should be one of the reasons why you, as a writer, should try to avoid creating content about those things, in order to avoid being boring. If others already know about what you're about to write, especially if it's a very simple and popular topic, then it doesn't really make sense to write about it.

That's both right, and wrong.

In terms of progress and the amount of views that you'll get, writing about simple ideas that others approached again and again in the past might not seem very smart. You're basically competing with thousands of similar articles for views and money. That's not the best strategy to get the most out of your content.

However, in terms of personal development as a writer, writing about popular topics that others already approached multiple times is simply a part of the process, a part of growing. In order to become good at writing about difficult topics, you must first become good at writing about simple and popular ones, such as how to get ideas, how to write an article, how to use a browser, and so on.

As with anything, to become good you must start from the very beginning, with anything that seems interesting to you, with every revelation you have, even if you know it isn't that special. If you're a writer, you might not offer any new information or a unique perspective on the subject you choose to approach at first, but that's okay - you're practicing, learning and growing as a writer through that content.

Besides, there are a lot of people out there who don't spend a lot of time reading, so even simple articles are important to them and might offer a bit of new information they might've never really thought about.

So, try not to worry too much about approaching popular and oversaturated topics as a new writer. It's totally okay. You're following on the steps of other great writers that wrote about the same topics, grew, and became capable of writing about more complex things. In time, if you put effort and thought into what you do, you will get at the same level. But first, you need to do the simple, popular things first, and that's okay.
