STEEM is going to get a whole lot better: introducing DConnect

STEEM(it) has always been adapting and changing with the communities needs, and while we are in many ways on the cutting edge of technology, not only the unique blockchain that we inhabit for our content, but the unique applications and authentication network that we all share.

There are still many gaps to bridge however, a big part of STEEM that is still missing is communications. dConnect is an effort to push the boundaries of what is available communication wise to the dapp community.

What is dConnect?

dConnect is a collective research and development effort to improve the signaling and communications that we have available on STEEM, the primary focus will be to take the open source tools we have available to us and assemble a worldwide communications network for users, dapps, and we hope eventually steemit itself.

Short term goals

To establish a voice communications network accessible to dapp users, and to establish network software and service provision for the authenticated signalling necessary for messages, games, virtual reality, interactive markets, bots, and group chat rooms, and to provide a single sign on process for hobby developers to create their own verified signalling-enabled, blockchain-capable apps under.

Long term goals

To provide the research and development necessary to create a global decentralized signalling platform for secure communications, instant transactions/interactivity and media transmission for communication.
