Am I still alive or dreaming that I am? A Life Lesson: Don't drive drowsy!!!

I did something VERY stupid. I let myself get drowsy at the wheel and nearly killed myself 2 TIMES! We have all been there: "I'm only 2 hours out, I can make it!" STOP RIGHT THERE: If you are drowsy, your judgement is compromised! PULL OVER! I actually watched a car pull over into a Rest Stop while telling myself I should do the same, and I slowly drove right passed it! That should have been my warning to stop! Instead I kept going, until I nearly went down a dirt construction ramp on the side of the road, still I didn't stop. When I knew I needed to rest and would pull over at the very next Rest Stop I felt better. The next thing I knew I was jostled back awake by the yellow bumps on the medium line! I had crossed both north lanes onto the medium and was about to cross onto the opposite lane!
SO after nearly wetting myself I desperately rolled down the windows to stay alert until the next rest stop, but there was none...I had passed it...and have absolutely NO MEMORY of it!
Well I made it back safe, around 1am and promptly put myself to sleep. I actually feel asleep crying in my bed and questioning weather or not I was still alive and safe in my bed or if my family, friends and coworkers were all going to get terrible news in the morning.
I woke up this morning calling myself every kind of fool. I have been drowsy at the wheel before-but never like this. I should have pulled over, but Woulds-Shoulda-Coulda. What I did was dumb and so now that I have that off my chest, I will download list of safe Rest Stops and heed my own lesson.
