SUPER DADDIES

Watching TV is my favorite past time when I was a child. I often watch super heroes that protects people from villains that destroys the peace and security of humanity.
My Papa is also a superhero with super powers of different kinds. When I was a kid, he won as Sitio Councilman. Every time that our Sitio Chairman is not around, people come to ask for his help. Just like SUPERMAN, he is just one call away.

Way back, his friend Mang Lito is so drunk, shouting and looking for a fight. No one goes out because of fear. Papa got out our door and saw him talk with Mang Lito. After a while, he accompanied him to their house. Papa is like CAPTAIN UNIVERSE, a Marvel Comics superhero; who can hypnotize using his Uni-Vision energy.
One time, the reception of our TV is weak. We can’t watch Bioman, Maskman, Ultraman and Mask Rider Black. Papa went up on our roof to adjust our antenna. I ask Mama, “is he not afraid of height?” Mama just said “No.” I was amazed that time. He is just like SPIDERMAN, who can’t fly but can climb up walls just to make us happy.
When I was in High School, honestly, I am closer to Mama than to Papa. I can tell Mama almost everything but too shy to open up with Papa. Maybe because Mama is the home maker and papa is always at work. But you know what? Papa can read minds just like PROFESSOR X. He knows if I have problem on school or I did something wrong. He knows what need just looking into my eyes. So better not hide, just tell the truth.
Papa is a man without fear just like the DAREDEVIL. He can face all the challenges and trials because he knows that God is with him and will always be there for him and for us. He cannot see the tomorrow but he prepares us to have a better future.

Now I know that PAPA is not a super hero. But he has superpowers and tremendous abilities. He may not as strong as INCREDIBLE HULK but he has the strength and durability that he uses to work hard. He is not THOR but he also uses hammer (he is a carpenter) to earn and provide our needs. He is not as fast as FLASH but slowly and surely, he will never stop inspiring and believing on us. He is not CAPTAIN AMERICA but he is a great leader that has the ability to think fast and reliable. He is not MR. FANTASTIC (leader of FANTASTIC 4) but he is a fantastic father, wonderful husband and a brilliant person. I know that Papa is like BATMAN. He does not possess any superpowers; but he uses is intellectual skills, physical strength, communication skills, sensitivity on others need, selflessly actions and strong will.

And now that I myself is also a father, I will become a SUPER DAD for my family. Papa has contributed many things that molds my personality and characteristic. For what I am now, my faith, strength and stability is credited to him. It is now my time to guide my children to become great persons and valuable citizens of this country and for them to live a meaningful life.
