Steemit vs Other social media giants
Facebook users like 4,166,667 posts per minute, Twitter users send 347,222 new Tweets, Instagram users like 1,736,111 photos while Steemians upvote only 174 posts per minute. This is very good news, because it means there is a very huge growth potential. If you have a Steem account right now you are part of the very early adopters. And even while we are still a very small player in the field 1 STEEM is already worth $1.60 USD. Think about what the price of STEEM will be if Steemians cast as many votes as Reddit users do each minute. Not to mention Facebook.
The stats looks attractive and I hope it will bring more power to steemit community each day and we all will grow.

Great info-graphic. I first looked at your numbers and thought they were off, but nope they are spot on. Very cool.
We need to make it easier to get users to use this platform so we can get more people over to us. I seriously think the initial encryption key to log in is the biggest barrier to getting new users because I think many Instagram people and Facebook and especially Twitter users would find Steemit a better killer app for them to blog with more than 160 characters but are so used to user genersted passwords that they see the key and say "whoa this platform is for pros". I wonder if somehow they could generate a QR code on the screen of their Facebook or Twitter acct that would allow them to use that as a key for a new Steemit account. I am not a programmer so I dont know if something like this is possible but I do know that signing into your account with this large and intimidating key has probably scared away many people so far and that the community could be a lot larger should people be able to log in easier. With the eSteem app I think this will make the userbase explode though. I have been using my browser up until lately but the app has improved significantly. Maybe we should all throw some $$$TEEM into a pool and target Twitter followers or Instagram and let them bring all the Facebook users over. I think if we focus on one platform to get new users that many other networks will follow. I was surprised so many people still use Vine and depressed to see so many people watching BuzzFeed haha😂💩. How much do you think STEEM will be worth if we get a million users? Upvoted!
I agree with you that some of steemit functions can be a big obstacle for the arrival of new users ! But it's also normal that the platform has some protection with a hard wordpass as it is about money, and also with our phone number for nobody doing multi accounts !

A good idea, Steem is the paid site, so everyone is like to come here for earning, its not about free publicity, so its important for other to share their thinking and get paid here.

The food thing is by my calculation for 1.5 users joining every minute that every hour we have 90 new users so 90 by 24 is 2160 new users every 24 hours

The platform is still literally a baby in the grand scheme of things. I just hope we can grow through our growing pains and become a giant like the others.
Same. If we can get over the hump of US users STEEMIT will no doubt be a revolution in blogging and in my mind will destroy most forums and tske over for Twitter and Instagram. Facebook has its own niche but there in no reason Reddit and the other platforms mentioned cant switch over especially since as you mentioned we Mind coins. Why waste your time somewhere else when internet users around the world can be spreading information, knowledge and making money for their content and time?

I'm a real sucker for infographics like this one. I would love to see some displays of tag/vote distribution. Sign of maturity for social network like Steemit would be if less posts and upvotes were directed towards Steemit stuff and more towards diverse range of subjects. Imagine if most of Facebook posts dealt with Facebook and how great it is. I think that is something what we all should be working on - upvote more of non-Steemit and even non-crypto stuff. As long as the platform is dominantly auto-referencing you'll have a hard time convincing your mom to join. There must be more kittens, dad-jokes and even porn (non-stolen amateur stuff).

The no ads in your face make it very appealing ~ The slow sign up process Is stunting the growth of steemit but I think that is by Design to organically grow platform...
Go steemit the future of social media
I need to get used to seeing my account value go down even though I am actively participating with posting, curation and comments. Last week it was $460 today it is $360. My steem is increasing but the value of my account is decreasing the more I increase the value of other accounts by upvoting. The other accounts increase and they cash in and mine loses value. Weird dynamic.
