Sharing experiences with my friends from steemit
Hello! To my friends in the steemmit community, today I want to tell you about my first experience in the installation of removable appliances in my home.
As I commented in my previous post, I am currently studying my fourth year of dentistry, and one of the new chairs that annexed me this year was the orthopedics that consists of the specialty of dentistry focused on facial development, the steps I had to follow were presenting a patient with the need for such equipment, after that I did a clinical history filling, starting with his personal data and clinical examination, among them one of the most important the Glatzel mirror test is used to measure the degree of nasal permeability and rule out presences of respiratory obstructions. There is also the nasal test of Gudin and Rosenthal, each of them is part of the clinical evaluation of the patient after that initial photographs are taken to observe changes in the following days with the placement of the appliance.
The dental impression is made with a material called alguinate that performs an almost exact copy of the dental and mucosal structures of both arches, a plaster cast is made and the exact mold is left to be used for the preparation of the appliance, and finally the installation.
The most important of all the work is to achieve an accurate diagnosis that favors the patient.
In the following image I leave you a photograph of my 9-year-old patient Laura Valeria with her removable appliances.
