Sahih al-Bukhari - Belief

I have decided to study the Hadiths as compiled by Imām al-Bukhārī. This is for #discussion open to all regardless of religious views if you can contribute respectively to the dialogue. I am not here to interpret the hadiths because I do not have the knowledge to do so. I would like to hear anyone's interpretation and analogy of these discussion if it remains respectful towards the religion.

Belief : "Narrated By Ibn `Umar : Allah`s Apostle said:...

"Narrated By Ibn `Umar : Allah`s Apostle said: Islam is based on (the following) five (principles):To testify that none has the right to be worshipped but Allah and Muhammad is Allah`s Apostle.To offer the (compulsory congregational) prayers dutifully and perfectly.To pay Zakat. (i.e. obligatory charity).To perform Hajj. (i.e. Pilgrimage to Mecca).To observe fast during the month of Ramadan." 

  This hadith is very important to me because it outline some of the basic duties of a Muslim. I feel like the first requirement is because Muhammad (pbuh) is the one who the message was delivered to and a lot of people refute this. What I am trying to say is that Muhammad (pbuh) reintroduced Islam to a people when it was lost. Correct me if I am wrong. This hadith describes The 5 Pillars of Islam. For number 2 says a Muslim should go to their Masjid and learn how to make their prayers perfectly. That would be acceptable because if you spend time in the masjid you will learn to do these things. I would compare paying zakat to picking a good charity to donate to. The last two requirements are probably the hardest for a poor or sick person but if your faith is strong I believe you may find the needed strength. This passage explains to the reader clearly what Islam is based on. If you feel different about that let’s discuss your difference.  

There are a total of 48 hadiths in the Book of Beliefs. Correct me if I described it incorrectly. This book describes characteristics of good faith. Another hadith of good faith states a good muslim would not harm another muslim with his hands or tongue. That means a lot and it says fighting and talking behind each other back is wrong. Also, to want for your people what you would want for yourself is an unselfish act and caring for others well-being. 

  

Belief : Narrated By Anas : The Prophet (PBUH) said,...

Narrated By Anas : The Prophet (PBUH) said, "Whoever possesses the following three qualities will have the sweetness (delight) of faith:*The one to whom Allah and His Apostle becomes dearer than anything else. *Who loves a person and he loves him only for Allah`s sake.*Who hates to revert to Atheism (disbelief) as he hates to be thrown into the fire. 

This hadith speak volumes to me about having faith in the teachings of your religion. I do not look at these words as if it is strictly for Islam but it is the words sent to Muhammad (pbuh) to be deliver to the world. There are many answers to questions someone might ask like, “How do one repent their sins?” There is a hadith that states if a person pray throughout the nights of Ramadan especially Qadr this is a way to have your sins forgiven. It sounds similar to being baptized. It also holds a hadith that states if a person fast during the month of Ramadan your sins will be forgiven. Keep in mind that it has to be sincere.

Narrated By Al-Bara` (bin `Azib) : When the Prophet (PBUH) came to Medina, he stayed first with his grandfathers or maternal uncles from Ansar. He offered his prayers facing Baitul-Maqdis (Jerusalem) for sixteen or seventeen months, but he wished that he could pray facing the Ka`ba (at Mecca). The first prayer which he offered facing the Ka`ba was the `Asr prayer in the company of some people. Then one of those who had offered that prayer with him came out and passed by some people in a mosque who were bowing during their prayers (facing Jerusalem). He said addressing them, "By Allah, I testify that I have prayed with Allah`s Apostle facing Mecca (Ka`ba).` Hearing that, those people changed their direction towards the Ka`ba immediately. Jews and the people of the scriptures used to be pleased to see the Prophet (PBUH) facing Jerusalem in prayers but when he changed his direction towards the Ka`ba, during the prayers, they disapproved of it.Al-Bara` added, "Before we changed our direction towards the Ka`ba (Mecca) in prayers, some Muslims had died or had been killed and we did not know what to say about them (regarding their prayers.) Allah then revealed: And Allah would never make your faith (prayers) to be lost. . 

This hadith I had to put into my post. This to me is an argument between the Abrahamic Religions. When Muhammad (pbuh) was taught to pray facing the Kaba it started to build dissent with the other Abrahamic Religions. The night of Al-Qadr is unknown due to two muslims arguing causing Muhammad (pbuh) to forget it. He said to look for it on the 5th, 7th or 9th night of the last ten days of Ramadan. Therefore praying throughout the nights of Ramadan out of sincerity will guarantee you do not miss the night of decree.
