Anwen Meditates - A Steemit Health Channel // Today: Yoga At Your Desk

in #random8 years ago

Hi friends! If you didn't catch my last post, I am creating a new tag #anwen-meditates to post my own health videos and tutorials. I am creating a Steemit health channel - all of my videos and tutorials are for the wonderful users of Steemit! I am planning on sharing many tutorials, including yoga, guided meditations, breathing exercises, and more. I am also uploading the videos to YouTube in the hope of attracting more users to Steemit.

I have been practicing yoga and meditation for 8 years now, and these practices have been critical in shaping who I am today. My constant practices have brought me inner peace and stability during crazy times, have healed physical and emotional injuries, and have taught me how to be PRESENT!

I am really excited to be able to share these practices with you all. I am first going to share tutorials and videos that you can do right now, wherever you are. These can be used as breaks from the information overload of Steemit / life in general, when you wake up, before you go to bed, or really any time at all :-)

This particular video is called "Yoga At Your Desk", and is designed for those of you who still have a desk job (like myself) and need a little break. It focuses on opening up your chest and relieving any shoulder/neck tension. It also includes some nice lower back stretches, because sitting too long compresses our spines (not good for those of us with sciatica). A short 6 minute yoga break, like this one, can really help increase our blood flow and productivity (great for that afternoon work slump). I hope you enjoy, Namaste :-)

That first picture is an example of raising the bar in terms of Steem specific quality. Way to go!

Thanks!

Such a relaxing practice! I will use this when I have been steeming for too long :D I love the video. Could you make one that is slower? so we can spend some more time in each position, and maybe a little more relaxing and slow music? Just my personal preferance, do it as you feel is best :)

Thanks so much for the suggestions! I will make a "yoga at your desk version 2 - slowing it down" :-)

that would be awsome! Sorry for making you work so hard :D If it is too much then just forget about it.

No problem at all! It might take a few days but I'm super happy to make it, and always open to suggestions :-)

These are wonderful instructional posts.. I've been following and getting inspired.. keep it coming!!

Thanks so much that means a lot :-) I plan on making many!

I love your posts! And I think it's just awesome to spread the magic of Yoga. Keep on doing the great work :)

Thanks so much! I will keep on trying to spread the magic :-)

Thanks for the video and pictures. As someone who spends a lot of time at their desk during the day these tips will really help.

I have a question though: what is your view on the big round balls people sit on? A few people have them where I used to work and they say it helps a lot too. Im not so sure, I think things like that can be a gimmick!
cheers

I'm glad they will help :-)
Hmm...for the balls I know that people use them because it engages their abs the whole time while they are micro-balancing, so that is a plus as it keeps the body engaged. However, I also know that your posture sitting on a ball may be worse for your lower back than sitting on a supported and well-fitted chair.

This is great service, thank you.

Thanks for your kind words :-)

great job thanks for your inspiring video and plz mind my bad spelling, have a nice day.👍😊✌

Just took a look through some of your posts, great to have someone like you on here, keep it up.

Thanks so much I appreciate it :-)

I like yoga and do sit at a desk most of the day....

I should try this!

Let me know how it goes!

Good work. Your posts look great :) Very well written and great content.

Thanks so much :-)

his therapy I like more

Do whatever works for you :-)

This was a great idea, because most of us are spending to much time at our desks.

Thank you! I agree, sitting at my desk right now...

Love this post. Very good information. So many people are trapped at their desk all day and this gives them something to do.

I'm happy you liked it :-) I know...I can't stand sitting still at my desk
