The term "archetype" originates from ancient Greek.

He believes that the universal, mythical heroes - archetypes - are in the collective subconscious of people around the world. The archetypes represent basic human motives of the experience we have developed. This results in deep emotions and determines our behavior.
Carl Jung, 1960Dr. Carol S. Pearson builds on Jung's work by defining 12 basic types that symbolize key human characteristics. Everyone has a set of values, motives and personal traits.
