Evening embers
Relax into terran chaos,
Enjoy our smog-menagerie.
Birds call across the petrol path
Hewn from sweat.
Children sing through petrichor;
Join their chorus with your wings.
Cars explode across the portal path
Grown from tar and silicon.
Days stretch their limber arms,
Testily reaching towards summer's length
While mahogany elders refuse to console
Toddlers screaming at the night's approach.
Evening is spiced with diesel chirps,
Dinner with sparks and smoke.
Hear the children's gleeful cries
Be drenched in gasoline.

or not because that's not sustainable energy source and expensive too. Maybe spray on a little for the hint of irresponsibility like a bad boy.
a very peaceful poem
I like evening time more than morning exactly because of this peaceful mood and deep harmony
Reading it a couple times, I get something different each time.
Makes me wanna sit by a campfire for a while for some reason.
Smog makes for striking skies but it is a flashing red. Let's hope we are moving back in favour of clean air. Powerful imagery and impact:)

nice another on poetry with outstading photography, perfect combination.
What’s terran?
Photos are awesome!
Today I had to wear a mask again @d-pend. Although the sky looks clear the pollution is too high. You wrote here exactly what I wanted to say.
Another great poem @d-pend. Every time it gives different meanings.

The first image is impressive, that contrast of the half sky burned with the sea, excellent. And I really liked the metaphor he used: "old mahogany", old but difficult to damage over the years. Good poem, greetings @ d-pend
