Two distinct mushroom types share the same source of fallen wood chips from the cherry tree we recently had cut down. It is fascinating to find uniquely different shrooms sharing the same source of fuel for growing fruiting bodies.
I wonder if they interact at all underground with their mycelium...

Lovely fungus you have there! I do not recognise them but I suspect they do interact, even though they are quite different species. It is truly stunning how many plants and microbes are benefactors of the mushrooms ability to find water and nutrients.
