As a former guitar store owner, photographer, and watch enthusiast, I always enjoyed bridging the beauty of different passions. This story is how we took a dream and made it a reality.
I decided I wanted to create a guitar with a theme, the "Hands of Time" - this would symbolize my long-term relationship with each of the three hobbies above. So I set out to create an acoustic guitar that accomplished that.
I consulted with Breedlove guitars and started work with their design team. We decided to create an acoustic with indigenous to Oregon woods, specifically Myrtlewood. I like Myrtlewood because its tone profile has the brightness of Maple and the richness and complexity of Rosewood. I decided to select this mastergrade top.
Then I started working with the artists to design an inlay that featured watches. This inlay would include brass, and various colors of mother of pearl. We finalized the design here:
Finally, we finalized all the specs which included adding accents of other exotic woods including Ebony, Zebrawood and Koa and adding a few other signature touches including Myrtlewood backstrap, Flame Maple neck, and french fingerboard extension.
The final product is here, hope you like it!
