I feel like all my good mushrooms spots are getting chopped down for lumber these days. This small patch of previously pine forest was filled to the brink with Hydnum repandum, so I could go there and fill my basked with these in a very short amount of time. Oh well, guess I have to look for a new spot for these this year. At least it's a pretty common mushroom, so I'm bound to find some new spots if I go looking for it.
For a moment I couldn't remember what country you were from and I panicked. "OH, NO. Deforestation! Global heating! Ragnarok!" Then I saw the dog with a bowtie and remembered that it was Norway and the trust in my fellow Scandinavians kicked in.
I haven't had much experience with pigsvamp. Normally it is my brother and father who are the experts, but I will ask them if we could find some next time we are having a holiday together.
