Pretty cool. I like the bull and buffalo

My favorite is the bull. I first saw the giant boot from down the street, then started taking pictures.

Joy and peace,

The Art in Downtown OKC was appropriate for the city and the state. I was there a couple of times for work.

Hey, great post about my hometown, are you from here? If so, I'd love to chat some time.

No, I don't live there. I was there a couple of times for work, then I tele-commuted the rest of the time. I enjoyed the place.
I lived in Detroit at the time, where there were dozens of painted statues of cars, being the motor city. During one promotion / contest / fundraiser, the cars were purchased by organizations all over Detroit and painted by the organizations. There were cars painted like cars, companies and even a piano for the Detroit Symphony Orchestra.
When I saw these statues in Oklahoma City, I thought these were similar and I had to take a few pictures. Were there other statues around the city that I missed? Are these statues still downtown?
I think that these statues captured some of the character of Oklahoma City.

It started as a copycat of the cows in either Dallas or Austin, I can't recall, and they were all buffalo. but the casting wasn't done right and many of them deteriorated. They were all painted differently. I think there are about a dozen of them still around. There's a huge bronze installation now, along the East end of the riverwalk downtown, depicting the landrun in life size. We don't have a lot of public art in OKC, but it's getting better.

That's cool. Fort Wayne Indiana did the same thing with Mastadons. IPFW, Indiana-Purdue Fort Wayne University has a school mascot of a Mastadon. So, the city has a number of these Mastadons around town.
