The special valentine day is here again and I smell love already.

What a beautiful feeling!
I bet you want to do some crazy new stuffs today, yeah?

Well, I am not here to tell you about valentine. Many young people have already started planning on how to waste their destinies today being February 14th.
Be sure you don't join the band wagon!

To those stubborn ladies/girls who still read this post even after my warning, CONGRATULATIONS!
My message is not for guys alone.

This is not about relationships or marriage per say but about how to win the heart of that person who made a mistake.

I understand how much you would want to correct such a person but DON'T DO IT PUBLICLY.
You know why?
Follow me closely.

One day, I came across a Facebook post and someone made a comment which I know hurt the writer deeply.

I will just paraphrase it so you don't go searching for the post.
" This is not how to write. Do it like this, do it like that. I am teaching you what a professional writer would teach you ".

I needed no soothsayer to tell me that these harsh words broke the writer's heart. I followed the thread and saw that it actually hurt the writer.

The irony of the correction now is that the person correcting has lost the writer's heart and missed the initial aim of actually correcting the person.

You need to know when to use the inbox.
You need to know when to privately call that person to a corner for a friendly chat.

I went ahead to visit the timeline of the person correcting another person and saw errors on the person's articles too.
Just before you jump at spotting someone's errors, CHECK YOURSELF first.
Nobody is above mistakes so don't correct anyone in public.

When you correct someone in public, you lose their hearts.
Such a person would no longer think of what you are saying but would think of the embarrassment. He will be thinking of how many people noticed he was not good enough because you said it in public.

I bet this professional could have turned the writer into a client via inbox.

Do you really want to win the heart of that person you want to correct?
BY ALL MEANS, GO PRIVATE.

That person will appreciate you more and you will give the person a sense of belonging too.

But hey!
Don't just jump at correcting that person. Start by telling them how amazing they have been. This is a secret on how to capture anyone's heart.
Appreciate their strengths first before you talk about the weakness.

So whether this person is your wife, husband, child, Facebook friend or what have you, KNOW WHEN TO GO PRIVATE.

You may want to argue that correcting a child in front of his friends means nothing but it hurts. It hurts to make that child feel like he is terrible in front of his peers.

Next time you want to correct, win their hearts with this trick.
