Its really cold here in the UK, the older I get the colder the Winter gets, I'm certainly finished with the Menopause as last year at this time I could have walked around in a swimsuit and still have the fan on, today I've got thick slippers on, pyjamas and a massive thick teddy bear dressing gown on and still feeling the cold. Putting the heating on here is so expensive, I pay £130 a month for Gas and Elec and it's going up again in Jan 2026. I've started getting the impression our Prime Minister 2tier Kier hates us.
I've spent the day wrapped up nice and warm inside but hubby has plans to sort the garden out tomorrow so that means I've got to go out in the cold and help him tidy up, well stand there and give him orders as I can't do much other than hold the bin bag open. I've spent most of the day cuddled up with Luna, she hates the wet and cold whereas Mika has so much fur she always hot.
I'm Sprout sitting tonight, my daughter is at her boyfriends so night time I sit in her bedroom whilst Sprout has a fly around spreading her wings and being a little buga, think she is broody, she's very bitey and wants to hide all the time. I have opened her cage as she was waiting to get out then she sat in front of her cage and didn't move.
I left her to go sit on the bed putting her favourite toys on the edge of the cupboard, she hates tin cans but loves to play with them, she will push then off the cupboard one by one then watches them fall, follows them down to attack them. She usually spends hours playing.
You can see the tin cans in a line then the drinks bottle is for when I can't find her, you squeeze the bottle a couple of times she will then either run at you or fly at you in anger as she also doesn't like bottles and hates water. We can't get her to take a bath, she washes herself in her drink water. We have bought so many baths trying to get her in even taking her into the shower whilst my daughter is having a shower, she hates it. She's a weird Parrot, doesn't act like a parrot. She can be so cute and cuddly then when she's broody she turns evil and wants to attack you.
Its getting close to her bedtime, she's come a little closer mainly because I've put the little light on, she's even let me give her a little scratch but didn't last long, she tried to bite me then ran off.
We have had her for nearly 8 years, she's never changed in that whole time, very fiesty with lots of attitude. Bedtimes are difficult as I have to wrap my hand in my daughters Top so she will jump on it without attacking me, I can then take her to her cage.
Here she is ready for bed, just need locking in and covering over so its pitch black, any light shining in then she will sit and stare out, if its dark she will fall asleep.
