Some Late Night (Early Mornin') Ramblings

in #lilupdate10 hours ago (edited)

ManYi left early in the morning, thankfully without any human casualty. Aside from the usual landslides along the county roads and highways, crops and some properties partially destroyed, our neighborhood is okay.

The typhoon did leave most towns in the region without power as the strong winds toppled some electrical posts and damaged transformers and such. At least that's what we noticed while driving out of DD yesterday afternoon. We passed by some linemen working along the main roads so we expected to have electricity around the evening. Unfortunately, the most places in town is still dark until now (time check, 2:35 am).

I haven't watched or read advisories but maybe most power lines or grids needed restoration including ours. Well, we can live another day without electricity.😊

At least our mobile networks are working now. Most were down during the day we felt cut off from the world. We could not contact anyone and that's one of the reasons why we drove to my parents' place even when I have not recovered fully.

We did enjoy a sweet treat on the way home. No, not the usual ice cream in a cone (I would have loved one) but this time, it's Flan de Leche (or simply Leche Flan locally). I was chuffed when the hubby handed it to me. It's in a super duper tiny tub I can't help but giggle.😅 "Do you want me to buy another one for ya?" he asked with a wicked grin. "I'm just keeping your sugar in check," he teased.

So he is now more conscious about what we consume😁 I can take that. It's for our good. With all the health concerns we have in the family, we don't want to add some more.

Anyway, we were glad to arrive home with everyone safe. And except for losing my favorite tree in the yard, our houses are dry and intact too. All is good and I'm grateful.🙏

Meanwhile, the Lil Guy was caught playing on my niece's old pajama 😅

He could not even hide his guilt, it's amusing. In DD, when he does something wrong (like intentionally peeing on the sides of his potty), he usually hides under the furniture or in the bedroom. Here in the other house and in the Lil Kingdom, he acts a bit differently. Clever boy😁

Well, it's too late in the night (although it's already Tuesday), so I guess this is it. A lil late night ramblings just to say we are okay (just because I couldn't sleep)😊

Glad that the typhoon left already but the destruction is too much. A lot of people in Luzon area still leaving on the evacuation area. Hoping for more people to help in the restoratoration so that they will go home already.
