RE: Thanks to steemit I allow myself the luxury of owning a BIKE <3

in #life7 years ago

I did not take it out. I used some money from work. But you to know that I have some savings in steem gives me the security to do so because I quit one of my jobs lately and some stuff like this is happening at the moment :) I do not power down for I think I want to help others on this plattform too.. I made some of my friends join steemit and I want them to have a profit of my time spend heere as well as my long term/friends/followers who I know for more than one year now. Also I discover always new nice accounts and I am happy to keep this project going. I think I will save my steem and steemdollar for a time when the price is better to sell and my steempower will stay here.

Good attitude gurl! I agree.

I believe so much in the platform that I have put my own money in and do plan to add more.

I was explaining steemit to my mom today and I was telling her how I feel more comfortable putting my money into steemit as an investment versus a traditional savings acc with a bank

@princessmewmew: You find me impressed! You really did that? I am here since yesterday and try to cope and get used to the foreign usability. I am still some more steps or time away from putting Euro into the system. What made you believe in this particular platform?

I have heard so much different voices - in particular Bitcoin got a bad name that it made me thinking and acting slow.

Yes, I did, and I just bought some more Steem. You can only make 8% or so interest at the bank, but on Steemit you can make much ROI.

Say you put $100 into Steem to boost your SP, and voting power, you can get that $100 back with in a matter of weeks versus a traditional banking system where you may or may not earn an interest amount.

I also love Steemit for what it does for you, intellectually. The constant curation of new posts has one constantly thinking, and it's proven that scrolling mindlessly though FB makes you dumb 😹

My attention span is better since I left Facebook for steemit - check my post here where I explain all about it

appreciation! Thank your for your open response. What do you mean by "ROI"? Or is it explained on your blog? I will have a look.

I am having the same experience when it comes to FB - behavior here is totally different. I think much more about quality before I comment and write.

My so far first English posting: [https://steemit.com/life/@erh.germany/what-is-greed-thoughts-influenced-by-ayn-rand]

ROI = return on investment 😊 I will check out your English post. I do speak some German, but I am soooo rusty

Oh ... I see, al this acronyms ... in English it is even more difficult.

No problem! I am happy to help x

Great, my mom also got a steemit account. She is still sceptic about it but the more she sees my success and gets an understanding of the idea of cryptocurrencies the more trust she has.

Wow, know that is really interesting!!

As I am new here on Steem, I didn't hear yet those kind of stories, where something virtual becomes real.

Again it shows me that believing in something moves mountains (as the German says) and that even assumptions and probability can do that.

Honestly, I find it crazy but maybe here is a first chance for sincere craziness.

I have an analogy with people instead of krypto-currency: I have a big family and know when times will get really tough I could go there and find my refuge. Just the thought allows me to feel secure and probably time won't come I have to find a hideaway as the fact that I always will be reassured gives me confidence.

When I translate or extend the term Steem Power it becomes much more than a currency. But in the end: what is the definition of a currency anyway?

Have fun with your bike! Greetings from Hamburg.
