Hi there! I'm a 17 year old Filipino high school student who loves to draw and animate on their free time.
In this post I will be sharing my story on how I got into animation.
Early days
First of all, I was inspired to animate just by watching cartoons and anime on the tv when I was just a kid. I started making small GIFs ,but since I didn't have any animation programs so I just used Paint (sadly, I don't have copies of them anymore).
I then started making flipbooks using my school books or notebooks by drawing on the very edge of the notebooks.
Few years back
I got my very own drawing tablet 2 years ago and I was really happy! I started from making arts to more GIFs and animations.
I usually make blinking animations for characters/character requests.
Then I started making short moving GIFs
Then sometimes I make animations on my phone using an Animation App called "Flipaclip"!
Youtube Days
Then last year I decided to share my animations online and since YouTube was a great way to share it I made my account.
I started posting my phone animations and then posted fan animations
Sometimes I even post Speedpaints
I stopped making for a few months (4 months to be exact), then a game called "Doki Doki Literature Club" came out and It quickly became my favorite... this fueled up the inspiration to make a fananimation to it!
That video/animation quickly became my most viewed video on my channel! Which reached up to 34k views.. I was so happy that people love it and I really love the feedbacks the people gave me.
I started making more animations and posted it online/on youtube
(A fan animation of a musical duo named "Evelyn, Evelyn")
(A fan animation of all my favorite gamers/youtubers)
I then reached 500 subscribers and made this to celebrate it!
I shared some of my unfinished animations as well!
then joined a MAP/collaboration animation
Today
Now I'm very comfortable animating, I've gotten a little bit better and It really proved that practicing is worth it, no matter how long it will take you will get better!
I've learned that no matter how terrible you think you are, you just need to not give up and continue chasing your goal. You'd learn that by looking back you will see how far you've become!
So don't give up so easily in things that you really want to do or learn, just continue on practicing/doing your best and you'll get there.
Do you like my story? Do you also have stories like these or maybe "never giving up on things you like and it turned out good in the end" kind of stories? Comment them down below!
