Yesterday I posted about my son, having the flu. So we took him to the hospital. I'm glad we did...
I just found out that there is a virus going around in the States right now. I'm not talking about covid19, we all know it has been around for a while already.
I'm referring about is a new respiratory virus spreading across the country, called "Respiratory syncytial virus", or RSV. This virus usually causes mild, cold-like symptoms.
There have been cases of more children getting admitted to the hospital because of severe flu symptoms. Rates of the respiratory virus are on the rise.
I just want people to be aware of this. Protect your children from getting sick and yourself as well.
Symptoms of RSV generally appear within 4 to 6 days of infection and include:
- runny nose
- decrease in appetite
- coughing
- sneezing
- fever
- wheezing
If you or your child experience any of these symptoms, speak to your Medical Doctor about getting an RSV test.
But I suggest monitoring your kids at home first before taking them to the clinic for they might get exposed to more viruses.
Back to my son, I'm just glad his health is improving now. The hospital checked his vitals and did a chest x-ray. Everything came back with good results. I was worried because his cough has been there for a while now, almost a month, and the vomiting episode recently...
HAAAAYYYYY..... It's the worst nightmare for parents like me to feel helpless. How I wish I could take all his sickness away so he wouldn't have to suffer.
According to the doctor, he just needs to take his medicines and rest up at home...
Today, he is feeling so much better.
My sweet sweet baby, can't wait to see you energetic again!
I hope I gave awareness to people who reach this post.
Anyway, see ya guys later! Bye! -mama dork
