Hard to believe this photograph was taken in late December while visiting Avery Island.

Jungle Gardens is a 170-acre botanical garden and bird sanctuary located on Avery Island, Louisiana. You essentially drive the the park and have ample opportunities to park and see the various bridges and structures throughout the park. It's like being somewhere far away while there as you need no billboards, hear no traffic aside from the handful of other visitors driving through the park. I've been to a lot of forests and jungles all over the world and must say I was quite impressed with the beauty found here.

This small salt dome island also happens to be the home of Tabasco. There's a tour every 20 or so minutes depending on the season I'm sure. You can even buy your Tabasco by the gallon in the gift shop. The ship to so many countries around the world - it's quite impressive. I saw Tabasco for sale in Entebbe, Uganda this past September. Pretty impressive all things considered.
