Life is 10% what happens to you and 90% how you react to it.

Life is tough... or at least it can be said that life isn't always easy. Even blogging and writing here on the Hive platform isn't always easy. Why do I say that? Because it can be challenging. Sometimes you receive downvotes that you don't consider to be fair, other times you suffer from the fact that nobody is reacting at all. Or maybe someone is accusing you of something that you deem to be unfair? No matter what, let the following quote from John Maxwell sink in.

Life is 10% what happens to you and 90% how you react to it.

Life is about responding to what is happening to us. Of course, we should be proactive and make sure that we do with our lives what we want to do, instead of letting our surroundings lead us. Being proactive is crucial if you want to succeed in life. But even if you are proactive, you will face critical moments in your life when you have to decide what you want to do.

For example, if you receive tons of downvotes (like I did with my last post here on Hive), what is the solution? Should I stop publishing on Hive and run to Steemit instead? Or should I write about something else? Or should I just keep on working and hope that the accusers will stop arguing?

The quote doesn't give an answer to the question, but it clearly tells us that tough things will come at us in the future. But, what will do about it? How will we react? That is a very important question!

One way not to react...

I don't know the answer to the question, really... but I know that jumping in bed and just crying will not help me move forward. Feeling like a victim and behaving and living as if I am a victim, will not help me. How come? If I feel like a victim and speak like a victim, I will live like a victim, and that is not a successful life.

So, instead of living like that, I will live for and in success, and know that I am going to respond to whatever's coming at me in a way that will lead me forward and to growth, instead of to failure and a bad mentality!

I wouldn't pay any attention to those downvotes at all if I were you, it's likely just some people thinking the rewards on the post were too high. It still got a pretty good reward, for less than 500 words without an original picture. It's just part of the balancing act the power players on Hive are trying to figure out.
