RE: The Struggles of Growing up with Glasses - You Know How It Is!

in #life7 years ago

I didn't need glasses until college, and they've never really bothered me. Or at least, I didn't think they did. Then I took my five-year-old son for a routine eye appointment and found out that -- surprise -- he needed glasses. And suddenly all the crappy parts of needing glasses hit me -- not being able to wear cute, regular sunglasses; when it's hot out and the bridge of your nose sweats; being on edge about my natural clumsiness and tendency to break things. Turns out he's inherited that last one -- and has destroyed four pairs of glasses in his first year! Which reminds me of the final crappy thing -- $$$$.

Oh jeez, four pairs of glasses! That $ would add up! I don't know if I ever broke mine, but I remember bending them up pretty bad.
