I'm pretty sure the majority of the people are going to relate to this following situation.

You have an exhausting or not enjoyable task to do, like finishing an essay for school, or get stuff done for work or even just go to the gym, etc. Most of the time you'll feel the "lack of motivation". Thus you tell yourself "I'll just do it later when I'm motivated enough". So at the end of the day you really haven't done anything for it.

This is a major issue, which a lot, maybe even the majority, of people suffer from. This thought of constantly searching for motivation is keeping you from productivity away. Therefore you feel terrible and always doubt yourself, at least this was an issue I had before switching my mindset when it comes to motivation.

What is motivation anyway? Unfortunately not every knows or even thinks about it. Motivation is just an emotion. Yes it is just a feeling, compared to when you're happy, angry, sad, and so on. This why it is so hard to rely on it, it comes and goes like any other emotion, so you can't really control it. That being said, let me tell you the right way how to get things done and call up the emotion of motivation.

It is really simple and I'm pretty sure you've heard it a lot. The "secret" formula is: JUST DO IT.

Action isn't just the effect of motivation; it's also the cause of it.

As I said before, most of us only commit to action if we feel a certain amount of motivation. We feel motivation only when we feel enough emotional inspired. Let's assume these steps occur in a sort of chain reaction, like this: Emotional inspiration ---> Motivation ---> Desirable action

What if I told you that this is an endless loop, which then looks like this: ...Desirable action ---> Emotional Inspiration ---> Motivation ---> Desirable action...

Your actions create emotional reactions and move on to motivate your future actions. Taking advantage of this knowledge, we can reorient our mindset in the following way: Action ---> Inspiration ---> Motivation

So the lesson here is, if you want to make an important change in your life, you just have to start doing something, dont sit there, really. And then harness the reaction to that action as a way to begin motivating yourself.
