WHEN YOU ARE A PRESIDENT

When you become the President, Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces everything changes...

Starting from the Oath of Office, you swore to protects and abide by all the teachings and yearnings of the constitution of the Federal Republic; to the detriment of your own personal faith and creed!

When you are a President, you just can't come up and speak out your own mind anymore, you have got a bunch of ideas running through your head and mind at the same time; everything running intermittently at fast pace and you have got to be decisive! And hope for the best, and if not the show must go on!

Even your movements are being restricted, how ironic to think you are the Commander-in-Chief of all that exists according to the sovereignty of the land you are presiding over, yet security report just reaching your desk forbids you to go down South especially at this point in time! So you are like a caged tiger in a fancy store!

Your immediate family are not left out; you have got to constantly watch your back for their well being and safety, you have got to keep reminding them why they are The First Family in the country and why they must do everything to uphold that lofty heights. They can't afford to do anything stupid to tarnished your name and images; your office!

Then the toughest part of your job as a substantive President at every point in time is Politics! Every little cough or sneezed by you becomes politicized, "Oh he is sneezing and coughing how are we so sure his health is okay to keep up with the daily rigorous the Office of the Presidency entails?" They keep politicizing issues like its a crime to just sneeze and cough out once in a while; these are nothing but mare involuntary actions but in politics its deeper than that!

Every simple solution to a problem becomes aggravated simply because of politics. "No why must the Independent National Electoral Commission spoke person come from the North, why not from the East?" Maybe we should have six spokepersons from all the six geo-political zones to be fair to all. And what if they weren't been picked from your own state's of origin? Ah! Ah! Let's just have 36 Spoke persons from all the states of the federation! Simple decisions getting complex and cumbersome all in the name of politics and equal representation!

When it comes to religion matters too, as a muslim president running the affairs of a secular state you have got to be careful, an Islamic Bank decided to operates in your country as part of her Corporate Social Responsibility you becomes the prime suspect of other faiths, "They are trying to Islamize our country!"

Even your very best friend who once canvassed for your candidacy as a trusted and reliable individual fit and capable for the job just over a year in the office will come to the public domain to criticize your every actions and inactions. "This is not the man I onced called my friend, he's change to a demon! That's what power does to people!" Simply because you are too busy to acknowledged his several lobbying calls.

And not forgetting them sycophants; they are always there with you singing your praises to the high heaven; to them you are a god, excellent and flawless at all times! A demi-god of impeccable attributes! You can't do no wrong! (Scoffs)

"God help you Mr. President!" These are my prayers and wishes for you!

This only remind me of the popular saying; "Unease lies the head that wear the crown!"

When you finally become the President, always remember this saying my friend.

I don't envy your office!
