People are always asking me this question. Nothing is better than a side income while you work at your regular job, Or heck. Even if you want to become fully self-employed. This is the way to go!
It all depends on how much you are willing to invest, While these income sources all depend on the work you are willing to put into them. The more work you do, The more money you'll make.

Write Books

This goes along with writing on Steemit.
Why not get an account with kdp.amazon.com and start writing kindle books related to a niche you are interested in.
Also, you can keep working on your Steemit blog, And direct your readers here, Maybe set up an email list too!
For those who love to write this is a dream come true!

Draw Coloring Books

For those of you who are artists, I'm still making a nice passive income from the coloring books I drew two years ago. Adult coloring wasn't a fad, But a new market in the making! While it's harder to get sales than it was before. It's still possible to make a living. Facebook is a great social media site for advertising. And you can always use Steemit to earn a bit of extra cash on any "freebie" coloring pages you want to give out to your customers.
You can publish coloring books through Amazon's www.Createspace.com.

Merch By Amazon

If you are an artist, Or heck just like designing shirt designs. This is my favorite way to start a shirt business. Amazon prints and ships the shirts on your behalf. You just need to make the design and type keywords and such.
Super easy way to make extra money! Note: it does take a while to get an account, So submit your application ASAP.

Youtube

I'm not too experienced with Youtube, But you can make a good income, Especially if you like filming yourself. There is also a Steemit version of Youtube I saw recently. But I can't remember what it was called. So please leave a comment if you know.

Affiliate Marketing

Affiliate marketing is when you advertise stuff, And when someone makes a purchase, you get a commission.
This is a really easy way to make money, And if you sometimes noticed on my blog, I have random links. Those are often Affiliate links.
You don't get paid a ton per sale, but if you can start getting a nice chunk of people buying with your link, It starts to add up quickly.
I love Amazon's affiliate program, But there are many others you can look into.

Heck, And if you are really crazy you can even do all of these things to make some serious extra money :)
Happy Hustling.

I'm working on doing a mix of these.. a little YouTube, doing tutorials for products I can affiliate with, and selling my own workbooks to help people learn about tech stuff. It's been really fun!

I used to make 3d fashion stuff for chat sites like IMVU and SecondLife but uuuuuuuuugh, I just needed a change! I also wanted to stop trading dollars for time. It stopped being as fun as it was years ago and became less passive than I needed to keep producing quality content soooo... trying something else!

Wow that sounds way cool though heheh! I Hate trading dollars for time, Seems like a huge waste. When time is your most precious resource.
I'm glad you are out trying new stuff! And figuring out youtube :)

Very true! Part of why I'm so glad I found Steemit. At least now even my "social time" can be valuable.
Thank you!

Heheh exactly! Steemit makes a lot more things even more valuable It's so exciting.

Excellent idea ! Side incomes are an awesome buffer. If you have a few of them it's like planting seeds and then you just wait for time to take care of the rest :)

Right? Plus if you lose your job you're good.

Exactly and that is an awesome feeling. It will also allow to more easily try to find a better job if you would want to as you would have that buffer to keep you floating for a bit

There are always plenty of ways to earn a side income, my cousin make Youtube gaming videos and after years of hardwork, has been making a lot more money each month and going well.

Writing and art are always great if you are able to just make small bits or or bigger amounts of cash. :)

Wow really? Just gaming videos? I Love that! It makes me want to do something like that as an excuse to do more gaming.
Right? I Love side hustles because you can kind of pick how much or little you want to make.

Yup and he is working on getting into streaming too. But he has like 34k subscribers and gets donations too.

Hehe you should! Then I can watch your gaming and potentially join you if we had some of the same games. :)
Though just like Steemit and everything else, it takes time to grow and do well.

Wow Thats a lot of subscribers!
Hehhe That would be way awesome! If I ever get some free time I may have to do something like that.
I agree Steemit is just like that too. So many people start on a platform and expect instant gains, And it just doesn't work like that.

Yup I am proud of how well he is doing.
Hehe yes! Even if you can record and edit 1 video a week on a certain day, people can know when to see a new video and slowly you can grow. You got lots of Steemit followers, many should be able to enjoy seeing them.

WOw that doesn't even sound very hard hehe and it would add up!

Well let me know if you do decide to do it at some point, I will watch. Hehe :)

dtube.video but it's still in the glitchy new stages. Youtube is pretty difficult to make money off of or rather to break into, but my family has had varying levels of success on it.

I'm really enjoying steemit and have a friend who draws those really cool zentangle type designs who would love the coloring book idea.

There are so many great ideas in this post! I love it!

I've noticed that! I'm glad you have family members with some success! Maybe they can share some tips hehe.
Yes!! Zentangle designs look amazing in coloring books hehe.
Thank you.

I want to jump on the merch on amazon thing! we are submitting the app soon.. :D can you imagine fun pole shirts and other stuff too?? Affiliate marketing sounds interesting, I haven't looked into that one

Omg! I can't wait to see your shirts once you get your an account! Do it! It's the best program ever!!
Affiliate marketing is weird, but fun if you enjoy promoting products hehe.

Oo I see! Thanks girl, you are always so inspiring 😘

Hehhe NO problem <3

Freakin' amazing ideas!! I love me a side hustle <3 Love seeing that drawing of you & Laura at the end of your posts too xxx

Thank you Hehhe :) I'm glad! She drew both of them. But I photoshopped them next to each other hehe.

Wonderful post and amazing photos thank you for sharing

Thank you :)

Good ideas for side hustles. I’m going to jump on the merch.amazon setup.

Do it! I hope it works out well for you.

Thanks for the good advice. I think it's going to become increasingly important for people to become more self-reliant, because the days of going to work for a corporation that would take care of you for life are over. Our society is also changing rapidly, so it will be more important than ever for people to be able to adapt. With the increased use of technology and automation, the skills that we have won't necessarily remain marketable over the long term, so it will be essential that we have the ability to learn new skills and apply them on an ongoing basis.

Great advice 👍

That’s an understatement actually.
This is Amazing information!
I’m gonna link to this on every page I have!

Excellent post..picture looking beautiful.thanks for sharing.resteem it

YouTube is a tough world. Started a channel 3 months ago and only have 150 subscribers and very little audience engagement. I'd try some new stuff on Dtube because it's just starting out, or wait for Vine 2 in March.

Great tips and suggestions as always.

Thanks kaylinart... like doing steemit as part time posting, to increase my income while commenting and curating... would explore blog posting after learning from the expert like you all, while reading your blog post to comment

Great advice! For the writer, it's revolutionary how much sites like createspace and the creation of ebooks have changed access to the market. Good times! :)

I like these ideas I never would have considered doing things like this for some extra cash. Thanks

so sweet of you

Yer i've often thought about getting into the T-shirt market. I have a few designs I like to use. There are so many people doing it now though, who to go for? Need to get on it for sure. Thanks

Dtube is the decentralised blockchian alternative for Youtube :)

Excellent article!

I noticed a comment thread where you talked about wanting to try to make gaming videos and maybe make that a side hustle. I work for a streaming platform called Mixer. It's an awesome platform with a great community! If you're ever interested, you should give it a shot! I actually started off as a streamer on there, ended up getting partnered... and ended up landed a job with the company!

Anyway, if you do end up trying it out, give me a shout so I can stop by!
