The Sandbag House Reno Record - the Void - almost reimagined - II

A week ago, I set up camp in what was the void and which is turning into a new bedroom. Yes, it looks a bit spartan and it will remain so until all the painting (floor, walls and bathroom) and electricity are done.

After making the bed and placing just two chairs, I spent time in there yesterday morning, measuring furniture and spaces (again) and imagining it and my chosen floor rug in place.

The large cupboard I'd earmarked to go behind the bed to form a "wall" is going to work.

That night, I slept in the new space.

The verdict: I am thrilled. It was a windy night, so the sounds were loud and different. The mattress, which will ultimately be swopped with the other, meant that the bed didn't feel quite like mine, but that's just a matter of time.

The following morning, I woke up without an alarm clock having ultimately slept better than I had over the last few nights. I've now slept in that room for a week.

Oh, and I am so pleased about my insistence that the bathroom door go where it is. Had it not, I would, as I thought, have had a clear view of the "throne"...

I have since applied my mind and measuring tape to exactly where I shall set up my "office" which will ultimately go at the top of the stairs, invisible from my bed.

Later this week there shall be more furniture moving, some upstairs and and some downstairs, as the void nears completion and I liberate space and prepare for work to start on phase 2.
