Here is part 3 of my summary of the book, and it is the final part. I hope you find it as insightful as I did, and it makes a positive difference in your life.
Robert Schuller says that he believes that if one is not able to achieve what one wants to do is because God has closed that door, so another one can be open even wider, and if one does not see the window of opportunity it is because one does not see, listen, nor obey God’s instructions. God also sys that the true purpose of one’s life is to find God in one’s mind and heart, and to help one another. One has to contemplate in one’s interior knowledge of the great presence of God, that is the only way that we can obtain the plan of one’s life.
There was a young pastor named, Oswald Smith, that wanted preach in another country, but was not able to pass the requirements, but that did not stop him in obtaining his goal. If he was not able to obtain that goal to be able to go to another country, and was able to send preachers to do what he was not able to do.
If god would answer all of our prayers every time that we snapped our finger, he would transform into our servant and would stop being our master. God would work for us instead of us working for him. Patience is one of the ingredients that we need when we pray. If it is not good for us, God will not grant our prayer, and if it is not the appropriate time God will say to slowly wait. If our minds are infected with negative emotions, we will be far away from God, and our prayers would not be answered, and it would not happen. A young girl by the name of Ann Kiemel believes in trying to elevate God with majestic prayers that are honest, moral, and positive one will be able to be the person that God would like us to be.
There is a form of progressing without losing our integrity. We can convert our dreams and it will guarantee our self-esteem without destroying us while we fulfill our goal.
We ask ourselves if we are the type of person that only thinks about ourselves, and just satisfying our personal needs. In only thinking in oneself it does not help anyone because if they see themselves with a lot of problems or if someone is in danger and needs help that person will not bother in helping because he/she is a coward.
People that think of another person aside from themselves they are considered being human. Those are the people that are close to God, because the spirit of God is with them. An example of a person that thinks of others and not of himself is when a coronel by the name of Bill King had just finished receiving his wings for being the coronel of the American Air Force in the city of Selma, Alabama, and he was wearing his uniform and walking the streets where his family lives. All of sudden two white men approached him and grabbed his wings from his shoulders and threw them on the street. They had called him an imposter because no black guy can be a coronel of the American Air Force. When that had happened Bill had picked up the wings and told the men that he was not an imposter, and he knew exactly what they thought about him, and that God loves us. When a person thinks like that is because the Holy Spirit is with that person, and no one is going to destroy them. Being like that with the people that we do not like is being consecrated with the Holy Spirit, and people will see a good example of how one should behave. This book helped me see further in losing hope, especially when one sees that it is going to be difficult in accomplishing one’s goal. A person can reach his or her goals by being firm, moral and God will help us with the rest. It is very important to keep that in mind in order to succeed, and in becoming what we want to be.
