So I claimed that I'd be doing a 44-round battle for my 44th birthday, link below, and then said I'd put up some photos of it. So here's a few that were taken on the day. I did ban any filming as I knew I would be a mess by halfway, but could still look ok in photos!
The battle took one hour! That's a man of 44 years dancing for a solid 30 minutes or so (cause I was only half the battle), and we're not talking shuffle left and right 'dad-dancing' this was full on throw your energy at your opponent breaking battle!
Key moments of the battle. After just 12 rounds (reminder, I'm 44!) I felt so tired and out of breath I thought quitting might have to be an option. After 30 rounds I felt that if I was going to die I probably would have already, so its ok to crack on, and for 35 - 44, I just don't even remember going in, my body just somehow kept the movement going. This reminded me of long distance at school when you hate running any distance. After a while your legs realise that the quicker they get to the finish line, the quicker they can stop!
Anyway, I passed this test and now feel fine about my 45th birthday as it's only one more round!
Peace!!
