In terms of life, nothing is ever as simple as we would hope and the assistance of other people is often necessary to make our dreams happen. This is where teamwork comes in. People can do amazing things alone, but the magic of life can really come alive in groups. When you can unite people behind an altruistic ideal, good experience or culturally enriching activity; then nothing is impossible. I have seen many different successes and a fair number of failures within group-work over the years...
To me, the lynchpin of group success is motivation. With the right motive, people can set their differences aside without question. With a solid motive, everyone deep down realizes that even though they dislike or disagree on a personal level with others that they are working with; they will still end up stronger in the end because of their participation in something positive...
Yet as we all know there is a certain point where people come in to destroy the precious harmony that is hard to achieve in group settings. At these points in time, it seems that just setting a good example is about the best you can do. Nothing is gained by ugliness or hostility unless you are faced with some form of pure evil.
At the end of the day, no matter what you are doing, or how high or low you find yourself in terms of the preconceived notion of societal success, everyone wants to feel special. They also want to feel appreciated and understood. Many fail to realize that just by acting in accordance with a high moral/ethical standard they will achieve this sense of being not only unique but also being understood. It's not something you have to chase after, it's something that comes naturally from working hard and being the best person you can be. Nothing in nature is wasted, every animal, leaf, tree and human has a purpose. The system of personal purpose creation only breaks down when you choose to hide your gifts and not participate in life.
There are a time and a place for the personals recognition in life, but in chasing after said "acclaim" many will end up destroying their opportunity at it. Being a good person is a reward within itself as it creates happiness and peace of mind, something lacking in our society where 30 percent of the population is on antidepressants...
Life is only as interesting as you make it, so if you have a chance to do something good with yours; then why not do it? It's a heck of a lot more fun to apply yourself than it is to sit on the sidelines... I sincerely thank everyone on the page for all of your hard work and your sense of cooperation, it will be needed for the coming weeks and I can assure you that nothing is lost under heavens watchful eye.
