Hello Steemit Community!
This is my #introduceyourself post...
“Hola” “Jambo” “Salut” “Buongiorno” "Dia is muire dhuit” “Chào” “Merhaba” "Goeie dag” "Nín hao” “Geia!” “Hej" "Ahlan bik" "Zdravo" "sain baina uu" "Szia" "Namaste" "Adaab arz hai" "Hallo"
My name is Kevin and I’m a traveler from Canada. Recently I attended George Brown College in Toronto for a “Hospitality, Tourism & Leisure” diploma program and I believe I was the only student in my class to graduate receiving the Dean’s List award. I was blessed to grow up in British Columbia, a province on the West Coast of Canada that’s slogan is “Super Natural British Columbia” - BC really does kick-ass when it comes to all of the super natural wonders it is home to.
I’ve tried living a ‘normal’ life, although I’m anything but normal. For me, trying to be normal really was like trying to fit a square peg in a round hole… it just never was going to work. This past year… my 35th time spinning around the sun I decided to stop playing it safe… starting to take risks and do things that really scared me.
I sold almost all of my personal belongings, dropped off a few boxes of personal items to my parents house, and then moved to Florida to seek employment on luxury yachts - one of my dreams! That didn’t go exactly as I had hoped it would so with my last few dollars I booked a ticket to Mexico and found some tech work that I can do remotely for an Adventure Travel Magazine for Parents. More about yachting and my new job will be left for future posts… but this gives you an idea of my recent history. I’m currently living in Playa Del Carmen with 25 pesos to my name as I await my first cheque! (don’t worry - I have shelter, food, clean drinking water and wifi!)
Anyone who knows me can attest that for the past 4 years I haven’t been able to stop talking about Mexico… I ABSOLUTELY LOVE IT HERE!!! I even came here in April/May of 2017 for a month, traveling pretty extensively around the country scouting potential areas I might like to live in. After my trip, I didn’t know how I would possibly make money while I was in Mexico so I never took the leap. Some things happen for a reason, and my ‘failure’ in yachting ultimately got me exactly where I wanted to be - in Mexico! Funny how things work out some times!

Personal Mission Statement
My life's mission is to fall completely in love with myself and inspire others to fully love themselves and live the life of their dreams. My personal journey involves exploring every corner of the earth, meeting with and learning from people of all different cultures, and lastly to never stop challenging myself to do things that I thought weren’t possible.
What really inspires me is seeing other people living their lives so completely in line with exactly who they are meant to be, knowing exactly what their purpose here on earth is all about. You know those people right? They can be quirky, or weird… but they’re usually intensely passionate about what they do and they are completely happy and fulfilled doing it. I strive to live my life so authentically that people are inspired by me just being myself. I think I already do this to an extent but I don’t give myself the credit I deserve.
Travel - Powered by Steem?
So… where do we go from here? I feel so blessed to have discovered this community in it’s infancy - can you imagine where we’ll be in a few years after working closely together to create a thriving community of Steemians?! The way I intend to contribute to the community is to share my travel experiences with others and give practical travel advice. I'll do this in hopes that I can inspire at least one other person to go out into the world and have their eyes opened to the miracles and wonder that awaits them beyond their home town. I believe that travel is healing, in a sense that it opens our minds and reveals certain ‘truths’ to us. Because of this, our belief systems start to change as what we thought to be true has now been challenged by seeing things from a new perspective in other cultures.
I will strive to find balance in collecting Steem Power, and cashing out when needed to assist me with my travels. I aim to be here for the long-haul, and my hope is that by sharing my love of Mexico with all of you, and providing you with valuable content that can help you make great choices for your next trip to Mexico, I can eventually earn an income that can support future travels and adventures. As seen in the photo below, steam used to power steamboats and steam trains, so why not have things come full circle and have ‘steem’ power my travels?
Wrapping up
Being new here, I don’t know too many people… so I invite you all to say “Hello” or “Hola” or whatever greeting you may use if you’re from a different country! If you want to get to know me more, give me a ‘Follow’ or write a comment down below. If you have any advice or tips on how to be successful within our community, I welcome your thoughts. Finally… if there are people in this community that you think would love my post, tag them in a comment so they can find this post and discover me!
There's obviously so much more to know about me, but this was just meant to be an introduction. I'll save something to talk about for next time!
p.s. One last thing…

Awww, thanks for taking the time to read and comment. I've been saying I want to 'blog' for many years now and I finally feel like the timing is right and Steemit is an amazing platform to be a part of... especially this early on! I saw it about a month ago and just put it in the back of my mind - now that I'm in Mexico it's a perfect time to jump in!
I'll give you a follow and check out your posts... nice to meet you!
Of course ! I was the same, but I wasn't confident to blog on other platforms, now that I found steemit, I'm all about it! Haha.
I'm glad things are heading in a positive direction for you!
Also I absolutely love BC! Have not yet made it over to Toronto, one day though!!
Cheers for the follow, its lovely to meet your too! :)
It's a long way to go from Australia... I'm surprised you've been to BC! Did you by any chance go to Tofino on Vancouver Island?
Haha I've actually been to Canada twice! That's how much I love it. I met a girl here in Australia about 6 years ago and have been friends with her /visiting her ever since !!
I didn't visit tofino but I heard so much about it from my Canadian friends! I mainly stayed in Langley, but also visited whiterock, Victoria and of course Vancouver. And I did make it into Alberta briefly :) hahaha.
Cool... well you've seen some great places then. I only recently went to Victoria for the first time, really interesting city... I'd love to live there for a bit someday!
Yeah definitely! Always wanting to see more though! Haha.
Yeah Victoria is really beautiful! I'm sure you'll make your dreams of living there come true :)
Hola atravelers.life! Welcome to Steemit from your favourite Astrologer!
This is a welcome gift to Steemit! The Steemit Horoscope is elaborated based on the position of the planets and constellations, so that we interpret how your registration in Steemit will affect the areas of Health, Money, Work, Friendship, Love and luck. We hope you enjoy it and that you will tell us if you have been successful in your case or not:) You can send gifts like this from my account https://steemit.com/@horoscopos
Dedicated horoscope for you
You're still living a fast pace of life, which isn't bad, if you can enjoy things the way they come.
Friends:
Love: Complicated. It is fantastic and tremendously sincere the love that the person you love so much feels for you. Don't you think it's time for you to be honest and tell her how you feel?
*Money:.
Health: Complicated. It's very important right now that you follow some intoxication diet that helps you purify yourself inside. It will help you recharge your batteries.
Luck: Complicated. Give more value to your money, you are giving it very generously to those who ask you for help, don't give money that they can't pay you back, be more careful with your friends, sometimes they aren't what they seem.
Work: Complicated. It's not good for you to be more nervous than calm when there's a misunderstanding or discussion at work. It's not good for you to show that attitude.
Thanks for the horoscope... I wouldn't exactly say that it resonates with me but I appreciate the time you put into it! I do enjoy staying up to date with my horoscopes so I'll have to check out your blog in the future as you start developing it! Thanks for reading about my new blog!
Hi i'm looking forward to your updates i love to travel as well. Thanks for sharing.
Sweet... I've just checked out your first post! I look forward to hearing more from you about your adventures!
Welcome! Love the vibes. I could really resonate with some of the points as I also just discovered this platform.
much love,
kemane
Awesome... I really like how colorful your artwork is... and I love water so your river series is pretty killer to me, my favourite colors are green and blue so I'm hooked!
Stellar intro! Welcome to Steemit officially ;)
Haha... thanks! I was starting to get too perfectionist about things and trying to think of all the ways to make it the best possible post ever, and then I said... just DO IT!!! Otherwise perfection would just take forever, I mean never. Thanks for the push - it's out there in the universe now!
Glad to have you! I appreciate you checking out my recent post and I look forward to your future posts :) I have the same dream of powering my travels through steem and I fully believe it to be possible. Maybe a trip to Mexico will be in my future... Steem on!
Absolutely! I think you should start planning a trip down here... there's so much you can do, it's not only sun and beaches. Keep me posted if you come down this way!
Definitely will! The Steem community will help us travel the world!
Wow!! Impressive man. It's testimonials like this that assure me that indeed,I have found a treasure in steemit. I hope to catch as much fun as everyone else. I'm still finding my way around.
I will soon introduce myself to the community.
Thanks for the amazing compliment! It's definitely going to take a community of dedicated individuals committed to creating valuable content that will make Steemit successful. It's definitely far from perfect but there's tons of great potential!
Looking forward to your #introduceyourself post!
Welcome! Try Sarma as soon as you can! :D
I'm not sure how easy it will be to find it here in Mexico, but I wanna try it when I come to your side of the world!
:VOTU:
Thanks man! I'll check out your blog, nice to see you came from VOTU!
Okey..bro...youre welcome :)
Nice to meet you, I'm looking forward to reading what you post about your adventures!!! 😊🙏🏽☯️
Thanks for stopping by Peter... Shamanic & Taoist Alchemy? I'd love to know more about that... I'm a healer myself and look forward to learning more about what you do! I'm assuming you talk about it in your blog, is there a post you recommend I read first?
Given it underpins nearly everything I write.... hmmmm..... not sure if there is anything I have up on Steemit (yet), not that covers it in great detail. However that would also be impossible, its a massive field of interest and research.
You could however read this as a start - its probably the most detailed piece I have up at the moment:
https://www.mspsteem.com/life/@peterloupelis/karma-it-s-not-a-thing
Or, if you are a regular reader/subscriber to Medium, read the same article over there and give it some love.
Gave it a read and commented. I'm curious though, why the preference to use mspsteem over steemit?
It has to do with supporting the Minnow Support Project, any time I post it helps support it.
Oh cool... I'll have to look it up! So much stuff to learn on here!
Welcome to Steemitsphere man!
Thanks man! I appreciate you taking time to read my introduction and upvote it!
I like the positivity in you! Travelling can open up so much room for personal development. You develop appreciation for what you already have and a drive for what you can have.
You'll do great here. Wish you all the best!
Thanks @cabernet, travelling and connecting with others is for me one of the most rewarding things I can do. I feel like I have "Attention Deficit Disorder" for life and I thrive off of constant change and new surroundings. I love the challenges that come along with this kind of lifestyle and wouldn't trade if for anything else in the world!
I love your positivity as well and your outlook on life from what I've gleaned from you so far! I look forward to learning more about you on here!
This is something I could never do. Not sure if it's just me or if it's the idea/fear that's been put in my head since I was little - Girls shouldn't travel alone; it's too dangerous blah blah blah.
There are tons of limiting beliefs even in my head that have really slowed me down in pursuing my dreams, and it's travel that has really helped disprove those beliefs. While women should be more cautious traveling, it doesn't mean you shouldn't. And you don't always have to travel alone!
