Living a sustainable and self sufficient way of life, is perhaps a dream that many or even most people share. To be able to leave the day to day rat race. Some may be thinking to sell or give away much of their belongings. As they may want to direct their focus on a life that is more about love, family, and becoming more self reliant. Rather than living a life that is most often seen as being successful. Such as having a high corporate job. Or being thought of as superior or having a high status. Based on the amount of money earned, or by the number of shiny objects they own. Some people may ultimately decide to pack up all their necessary belongings. And with their families, head out to live in the middle of nowhere. Others may decide to search and find their very own piece of paradise. They may choose to tend to their own beautiful gardens. Allowing them to reap the rewards of fresh fruit and vegetables. Canning them from their own kitchens. Or using to make fresh, healthy, homegrown, recipes to bring to the table. For the family to enjoy. They may also wish to have animals. And livestock to tend. For their own food and clothing. Or other necessities.

Living the lifestyle you wish for. Can be a dream come true, You can learn about how this can be done, here on Steemit. From a bit over 200 Steemians that have turned their dreams of Homesteading into their everyday reality.
They also openly share their knowledge, of what they have learned through their own trials and tribulations. With those who wish to soak up all that wonderful knowledge. You can feel free to ask all types of questions for concerns you may have. We are certain that our Homesteaders here on Steemit, can help you handle just about any situation you may have. No worries.

With the sharing of all their information. Can come some hard hitting realities of some challenges you may need to face, living on a Homestead. So you may need to ask yourself. Will you be ready to face these challenges....

Keeping our body healthy, working right and finding the right fuel at times, Homesteaders find those old recipes that work.
This post is very interesting, it reminded one of us about how this healthy gut recipe starts looking out like Russian salted cabbage a little bit then ends up like a thick kefir (yogurt) that helps keeps your gut nice and healthy homemade.
It's amazing what you can use to keep your self healthy when you have the knowledge of how to, Thank you @joearnold for sharing this fabulous post and reminding us how to us simple foods to keep our guts healthy.

Everyday there are things to do on the Homestead @svfarms shares some of the things that was getting done on their homestead from canning, garden updates and dealing with flooding from hurricane Harvey. This is a glimpse into some of the daily going on's at a homestead. Baby chicky's are hopefully on the way on the @farmstead homestead in the next 20ish days with a broody hen sitting on any eggs she sees in her area. Amazing looking eggs, trailing and testing different types of breeds, who knew there was so many different breeds that produced different colors, you will learn this all through @farmstead posts, and dealing with chickens and smoke in the air. On the Homestead there are many things to think about, to have animals or not, to use electricity or other options, cooking ways, and more, one of the things that @slhomestead touches on is cooking using a sun oven to bake a lovely fruit tart. This last post we have for you. Is something a little different to to what a normal western homestead, is thought to be. But that is the very reason that we wanted to share this wonderful post. As it tells of another country.. And how it's people live the Homesteading lifestyle within entire villages. As seen through the eyes of the travel blogger, @anna-redhead. Of her travel through Plateau Bolaven. If you like any of these posts don't forget to show the bloggers @joearnold, @svfarms, @mother2chicks, @farmstead, @slhomestead, @anna-redheadsome love by either upvoting, resteeming, commenting on their posts, or giving them a follow.

Wow, thanks for highlighting our homestead! And all the homesteaders on Steemit. We all have our different issues to deal with. It is amazing how look at things the same way but will come up with a 100 different ways to deal with whatever issue we have. I don't personally know of another group of people that is so giving of the knowledge they have. My wife and I have been truely inspired not just ny the legends like Joel Salatin, Geoff Lawton, but the not so well known folks just like us.

Thank you for letting us share your posts, Homesteading is close to both our hearts, but we're both in dreaming mode at the moment, we hope we can join all the homesteaders on Steemit in Reality mode one day.
The Steemian homesteaders inspire us we are honored to be able to share your posts and soak up the knowledge you all share.

Thanks for featuring one of our posts here, too! After learning so much from the homesteading community while we were still dreaming big dreams in the city, it's an honor to finally be able to be homesteaders ourselves and contribute to the huge, wonderful, dirt-encrusted pile of stories and knowledge out here.

We have found and read so many wonderful posts such as yours. On the subject of Homesteading.
We hope to be able to join all of you in this way of life very soon. And thank you so much for taking the time to type us such a wonderful comment. We wish you a great day/evening.

You picked some great pieces to share here today!! Thanks so much for including one of my adventures also! I am really really thankful! Love how you format the posts too! Great work @the-curator!

Husband and I are in the beginning stages of our homestead adventures and we've had tons of problems in all different aspects of it, but the birds, they've been the easiest! And most rewarding. :)

Hi, @farmstead Thank you very much. It is very encouraging to us. When people are happy with the issues we post to Steemit. Even though we are still a very new magazine . We personally have much respect for the homesteading way of life. And hope to soon be able to enter into this way of life ourselves. Of course we know it is not always easy in the beginning. We are sorry about the troubles you and your husband have had. But in the future. You two will look back and see how much you have learned from them. Glad to hear that your birds are doing well. We wish you many blessings in your homesteading future. Have a great day/evening. PostHuntress, @the-curator
