DIY: MY SON'S FIRST HANDMADE SOFT TOY

in Home Edders5 months ago (edited)

My son likes to read DIY magazines where there are lots of ideas for handmade toys and decorations.

When we look at these pictures, it seems it's so easy and so fast!
I followed this idea for many times, and almost never it was easy and fast!;))

Now my son makes the same mistake;))
He sees something interesting in such kids magazines and wants to do it. Now, fast, easy!
I noticed that it wouldn't be so fast...but he was stubborn.
Ok..

let's do a soft toy;)
without any skills in sewing;))

we had an example in the magazine that we could use to make the basis for our future toy - an elephant.

Vlad took a sheet of paper and using light from the window transferred the picture on it.

Then he cut it.

Then we took some cloth and transferred the toy basis there using our paper picture.

Now we need just to fill the toy with some cotton and sew it well.

and it was the most complicated for him;)

I had shown him the process of sewing in the past, but he had never done it by himself because he was afraid of the needle:)

Now he had to do it by himself because it was his idea and his desire.

It was not easy and fast;)
at all;))

But still after 60 min+ he did it;)
Yeah!!

He wanted to sew some eyes for the toy, but he was too tired and just painted them with a marker;)

And added 2 wings for his elephant!
it's a magical elephant for sure!;))
