Good Morning photography world, right back at it with another fun moment and rare bird species captured at my local lake. Here is the Pied-billed Grebe that mom and dad had some babies of. So many photographers at this spot daily to capture them. Here is a few shots I have taken out of the 500 plus of them I took.
The top shot is definitely the dad because he goes out to get the food and mom stays back with the babies. I knew he was going to go all the way to the other side of the lake, where one lake drains into the next to catch the food for his little ones. So I followed him and he definitely was aware of me and what I was doing. These birds are frequent divers under the water to feed on fish or craw dads as you can see in the first shot.
The are brown, small that have a stout bill. Pretty common throughout the Americas but rare to see where I'm located, so the other photographers have said to me. When they bread they got a black ring around their white bill and the young-ins has some stripes on the head with some cool cinnamon or orange color. To me they mostly seem grey but yet they are cinnamon in color, I suppose that's due to them taking a dive into the water and what the Sun reflects.
Anyways a fun time catching these guys and I hope you all enjoy them, now off onto the next shot day for me, yesterday was fun, stay tuned many more awesome times with shots to come.
Have a blessed one and thank you for coming in and checking out my shot of the day. Stay tuned and enjoy my future shots in the world of photography, thru my lens.
