Happy Thursday 🎉 and a very warm welcome to my report 😊. Hopefully you are enjoying or enjoyed your day. I've had just another ordinary day stepping it out and as bedtime beckons, it's time to quickly take a look at how my day has been plus some of the trending stories I came across. As always thank you for reading and let's take it away 💨.
So today I had a wonderful brisk morning walk in the amazing fresh air. Then I was back indoors for a little bit of daily chores. Then later catching up with the news. The next chance of walking came in the afternoon out to the mall for some food, nice sunny day as I made my way. As always I squeezed in the afternoon nap and woke up some time early evening. After some news and you tube, it was time for the slow paced sunset walk. I had a nice walk then was back indoors still watching news and some you tube. I did enjoy the cool evening breeze 🍃 and beautiful sunset. So now let's quickly take a look at a summary of what was trending.
Locally, the usual political shenanigans kept going😹, otherwise a quiet day.
Globally, Gaza trending as another day of relentless bombing unfolded. It's two months since the start of the war on October 7.
Gaza health ministry says, 360 Palestinians killed in Israeli shelling in the past 24 hours😭. Desperate scenes as the injured are pulled from the rubble and rushed to hospitals, people using their bare hands in the rescues😿.
In the north, Hamas fighters are going one on one with Israeli army as ground war intensified🙀.
In Israel family members of Israel captives held by Hamas lit candles at a square in Tel Aviv on the first day of Hanukkah.
Also trending, ultra nationalists marched through old city of Jerusalem to demand the end of control of Al aqsa mosque by the Waqf🙀. The Waqf is the islamic endowment that administers the Al aqsa mosque compound. The march coincided with the first day of Hanukkah, a Jewish festival the lasts eight days. By the way,Happy Hanukkah if you are celebrating 🎊.
Finally, Iranian president Raisi has condemned Israel's assault on Gaza as he met Russian president Vladimir Putin in Moscow. He added that a genocide was unfolding in Gaza as the world watches quietly😿.
Putin on his part has cast the Israeli Hamas war as a failure of US diplomacy and suggested Russia could be a better mediator in the decades long Israeli/palestinian conflict. Hmmmm interesting.
