Last week, I had another meeting with the @menulisid team. We had more attendees during this call. I was introduced to the rest of the teams (graphic designer, their social media manager, etc.)
Some topics were discussed, but the main thing is that we reviewed our proposal and tried to finalize our needs for online and offline events.
TLDR, short and sweet version.
We expect around 150 attendees for the Hive webinar. Anyone on Hive can join, but they will be organized in Bahasa Indonesia (maybe some translations if available)
Offline events in January will feature a hive booth where people can ask questions about Hive, its communities, and how to join.
Our target audience includes professionals, writers, journalists, aspiring writers, and tech and crypto enthusiasts in the region.
So far, we have accumulated approximately $20, which is the HBD and HP combined earned from this post Bridging Hive and Creativity in Indonesia( Big thanks to everyone who upvoted)I have converted the HP to HBD
- @menulisid is starting to post their introduction on Hive (they still need much coaching to do) Give them a warm welcome😆
- We drew up this project management calendar, which we have tried to follow strictly.
- After both offline and online events are over, I'll also host more follow-up sessions to share what I know about Hive and help them in case they need more help with familiarizing themselves with hive environment &
- After the call, I offered the rest of the team a hive account. One person has shown interest but hasn't yet introduced themselves ( I should do a follow-up)
There will be a cross-contest from Menulisid x Hive ( their theme potentially is about Hive). This needs to be discussed more.
I also reassured them during the call that Hive isn't a scam or pyramid scheme. I had to show my account and other established accounts in the community.
At my own expense, I tried promoting this initiative using @peakd promotion feature and this post is also using the promoted feature. So If you click on tags #hive, you could see this post too 😊
Anywho, there were more than five people during the call, and I had to explain to the rest of the team what Hive is once again. My skills have become slightly rusty, but I am getting the hang of things again. Typically, when I talk to someone one-on-one, it's much easier to guide them through the process, but with more crowds, it takes a while. Through that experience, I learned some lessons and potential questions that might come up.
As I went through this process, I learned insights into PreSales engineering, which I am now applying to this project. However, during the call, some aspects didn't come across as effectively as they could have, and I hope to improve that for our next meeting.
This week, I was focused on research—gathering data, analyzing the market, and figuring out what to include in the presentation. For example, while we can draw comparisons with a web2 platform like Medium, there's Publish0x that offers similar services in the blockchain, which allows me to compare and contrast with Hive directly.
I am also including more topics because Hive is an massive ecosystem, and there's more than just earning crypto for publishing and reading/engaging. There are various activities like games and NFT space that these creatives could expand and become more familiar with.
After the call session, I offered any attendees who might want to create an account. I guided them through the process but had to explain the purpose of keys and passwords, which I think are very important.
I didn't have my usual introduction samples at the time, but I showed some from the @ocdb compilation that they could refer to. I promised them that by the next meeting, I would have a comprehensive guide from creating an account to publishing their first introduction, along with some tips.
I've been working with @lovesniper since its inception. So, I have some sources, but some of them could use an update.
Last but not least, I am open to any feedback and suggestions.
I am available for more partnering and if you have any inquiries or advice, feel free to ask or comment.
You can also find me on discord @macchiata.
All the rewards generated in this post will go through funding offline initiative of those projects mentioned above.
The job of bringing new people to Hive is not easy. When you talked about explaining Hive to them, it reminded me of how complicated it is to invite people and they can't (or simply can't) adapt to our beloved Hive. I've invited about 10 people, if I'm not mistaken, and none of them stayed.
It's really a challenge to be their teacher, lol.
Now, one thing caught my attention. You wrote at the end of your post that you're open to new partnerships. What would that partnership be like? What exactly do you expect from a partnership? Maybe we can talk about this in more detail, together with my friends @michupa and @vempromundo. We're leading HiveBR (Hive Brazil) with a small team, some Brazilians who are very focused on helping the community grow. However, we also face many problems.
One of these problems is the high number of Brazilians who drop out. There used to be a lot of us, but today things have kind of stagnated. Despite calling and trying... few people stay... Do you think we could help your projects in some way and at the same time, we could improve something in ours?
Anyway, a big hug and keep on fighting, I know that one day victory will come for all of us!
Have you asked them what was challenging about Hive and their expectations towards it? Maybe that'll help narrow down their interest and you can pin point some solutions to them that works.
Who were your target audience in approaching hive?
Retention is a challenging part of this whole process. I've been working on @lovesniper along with the other team members but it's all mostly voluntary. I can't speak much with data because there's no fixed analysis on that which I honestly should because it's another step of all this. Just based on my experience, those who post consistently and engage typically thrive well in the community but it's also really coming down to their interest.
Another tricky part I've found is their expectations towards this place. Back in the day, I saw a lot of photographers from a certain country getting so highly rewarded then left 😂 this isn't something that I personally want and I am sure a lot of people here agreed as well.
I'd think partnership in your offer would work pre-events. Think about organizing more webinar on how to thrive on hive and such. Make it internationally (cross-experience) type of events. Invite people who has been here long enough and what makes them stick to this place.
Can you believe that my biggest complaint has always been writing the posts! The long ones in this case, that was the biggest complaint that it's a lot of work and little return, I never really thought that, I always ran after it, made some connections and so on I went and built my career.
But I confess that I never asked anything kkkk, I always taught everything and helped in everything I could, even so people don't adapt very well, unfortunately that's it. Retaining new users at Hive is complicated, so now the new members we get, I've been introducing snaps, threads or liketu, which help to keep the user with these quick actions that simulate web2 a lot!
It'll help if you also ask them what they likes. You never know some of them might like long form content others short from content. Try to be in their position and find out their interest, maybe that'll help them coming back to hive and see this place as something new 😊
I see, I hadn't looked at it that way, I really missed asking what they preferred, this or that. It's great to exchange ideas about onboarding, it makes total sense to me. A different view from what I'm used to kkkk 😄
Thank you for reaching out and sharing your experiences—it’s true, bringing new people to Hive and keeping them engaged is no easy feat. Many of us face similar challenges when trying to build local communities. In terms of partnership, I’m envisioning something that involves collaborating on content, offering training sessions, and maybe even sharing promotional tools or resources that can help attract and retain new members. It would be great to work with you, @michupa, and @vempromundo, alongside the HiveBR team, to brainstorm solutions to these issues we’re all experiencing.
One idea could be to explore topics that appeal to broader audiences. For example, we could offer tutorials on new, trending topics, like casino portugal https://bacanaplaycasino.net/ related content, which often garners a lot of attention. This might capture the interest of people who enjoy the excitement of casinos and sports betting, drawing them into the community.
That is a great initiative I know some Indonesians in hive and they are nice people always trying to engage! That's the beauty on Hive, connecting people locally and outside their local community =)
Yep! they're all around and are often engaging. I am sure a lot of them are on splinterlands too. I am not into that kind of games unfortunately 😅
You aren’t the only one for sure!!
This is my first time reading g about project and the agenda looks really nice. Maybe I'll be keeping up with it now. I'm glad j read about this.
We started this sometime ago, took a while with planning and convincing. Here's hoping to it's working well.

Wonderful work
finger crossed
Is there a crypto app in Indonesia that directly trade Hive to fiat and other crypto?
So far in the Philippines still NONE.
I am not sure what type of crypto app you're talking about. We have 3 exchanges listing Hive and they have mobile app, if that's you're referring to. One is Hive/USDT another is Hive/IDR (fiat) and another is Upbit HBD/USDT pair.
All 3, wow! I presume Hive Indonesia is bigger in terms of active members than Hive Philippines.
I think Philippines are bigger tbh
Wow this frame work is looking incredible, it will make the hive blog chain ⛓️ more well known to the world 🌍.
🚀
Fabulous! Be good to discuss your experiences some time.
😊Will do my best and will update more things as I go hehe
👍 ❤️

@macchiata, I paid out 6.970 HIVE and 1.311 HBD to reward 11 comments in this discussion thread.
You are doing some great work onboarding people. One marketing lesson I can give is focusing on what HIVE does instead of how it work. A person telling a car does not talk to you about the engineering behind it. You don't get to hear about the hardware architecture of a smartphone when buying one.
Focus on things such as free transactions, strong community, games and show them what people are earning. One of the biggest selling points will be censorship resistance. Nobody can take away your account.
Thanks for the extra input. Over here, protection of one's intellectual property is a thing. I'd talk more on content ownership as well compared to other social media all around.
