Hello everyone in this community! I recently went on vacation and one of the things I was able to do was change my lenses. I hadn't done this for a little over two years (or three, I don't know anymore 😆), so it was a good time to make a change and see how my vision was doing.

I went to the optician's as soon as I got back from the trip. My boyfriend waited for me once I got off the bus and after helping me with my bags, we headed to the store. This was supposed to be part of my birthday present (which was last September), but on that occasion, the place closed early and I couldn't get the exam, so my boyfriend promised me that during his vacation, he would give them to me.
The place is quite comfortable and was decorated very nicely. The service was excellent and I didn't have to wait long for the glasses.

My old lenses still work, since the prescription of the lenses is still the same. But the frame was broken in one of the lower parts where one of the lenses goes (it is glued with Pega Loka) and the lenses themselves are a little scratched, but not too much. My main desire was to know if I needed to change the prescription, but as the specialist told me, my vision has remained the same (I have problems seeing far away), so I was quite relieved to know that it had not worsened, although I was not surprised, since another specialist had told me years ago that "your own eyes try to see outside the lenses when they no longer work" (and in the past, I did experience that event). So I can use my old lenses in case of emergency.
Another concern was choosing a new frame. I had been wearing the same design as my old one for quite a few years, so this time I wanted something a little more daring. So I decided to choose one that was green and of the two I tried on, the one that was oval shaped was the one I liked the most.

After that, my boyfriend took me out to eat, because we both hadn't had lunch and we were starving haha lately he's been into Chinese style food so he wanted me to try his favorite place. The food was really delicious 😋
During my stay at the optician's, I also took the opportunity to clear up my doubts regarding my vision. I told the specialist about my need for lighting when working, which contrasts with one of my relatives, who avoids light and spends almost all his time in the dark. She spoke to me about the different types of visual problems and the types of lenses used in that case. She recommended that I continue using light backgrounds when working, as well as using lighting if I feel that I need it. She also told me that the less glare I can put on phones, the better.
Clearing up these doubts helped me to now understand this relative who gets uncomfortable when I turn on the lights haha. I find it curious that the type of lenses he needs have an effect called "monochromatic," which makes the lenses look grayish. Mine only have protection against blue light, which is the light emitted by devices such as phones and computers.
I have been wearing glasses since I was sixteen and since then, I have always tried to take care of my vision, even more so since I was pushing myself while working hard in a workshop and I suffered some after-effects from not taking care of myself. Most people do not give importance to their vision health, not only do they not rest, but they do not seek to have an eye exam just because they find wearing glasses a nuisance. Vision is a gift that many unfortunate people do not have, not to mention that we need it at all times to carry out our activities.
I recommend that you have your vision checked and follow the specialist's recommendations, rest your vision when you feel tired and use artificial tears when the discomfort is due to lack of lubrication of the eye (due to excessive use of screens). In my case, I'm already used to wearing glasses and I feel "strange" without them, but since I take care of my vision, I can go for long periods without using them and I don't get tired, just as I can work for hours without any discomfort.
Take care of your eyes and you will continue to see the wonders that this world has to offer you 🤓✨
Thank you very much for visiting my post. I hope you found it interesting.

Since 16? That's a long time now, I find glasses uncomfortable. Though I don't put care that much on my eyes but thanks to my oldies always reminding me about that, I think I'm still doing great taking care of it, but I know I need to give more care to my eyes. One of the thing that Mom taught me was never take a bath if I already used my eyes in reading or spent time on my phone's screen, or at least give my eyes an hours of rest before taking a bath. By the way, why not contact lenses though?
Hahaha yeah... that's why I've already gotten used to them 😅 Oh! I didn't know that fact about resting your vision before taking a bath 😮 I'll do more research on the subject... And as for contact lenses, I think I'd be scared haha One season I used to wear them for cosplays, but I found it uncomfortable to put them on and take them off, I ended up breaking out in a cold sweat from nerves 🙃 Not to mention that they surely require a lot of care and the cost of that type of lenses must be a lot more expensive (I don't know anyone who uses them 😆), but well... who knows if in the future, I'll change my mind and take the risk 😌 Thank you very much for reading my post and for commenting 🤗💚
Oh yeah, having contact lenses can be costly. At least with glasses you can put it on and remove without a prob unlike lenses no. If its me I'll go with glasses too. Putting contact looks really scary, some use tools to remove it and I feel like using them can also take your eyeball, omg thats so scary.
Oh no... You've unlocked a new fear for me! I had seen that there was an object that is used to remove contact lenses, but I didn't know that something so terrible could happen 😨 All in all, I think I prefer my glasses haha 😅
