This is the teaching of from Bro. Eli Soriano's of blessed memory and these words I share are the things I learnt from his teaching on the above-mentioned topic.
Mark 6:3 (NIV)
Isn’t this the carpenter? Isn’t this Mary’s son and the brother of James, Joseph, Judas and Simon? Aren’t his sisters here with us?” And they took offense at him.
Jesus Christ was judged not by His teachings sometimes but by His family background. The same goes for us these days where we are being judged based on our background rather than the value we offer. They tried to belittle Jesus' achievements here because they thought they knew Him when He was growing up and seeing Joseph was His father.
He lived a normal life like everyone and that is why they could refer to His trade and called Him "a carpenter" because He took over what Joseph did. They judged Him and felt someone this "ordinary" cannot have this much power. If only they knew He was not of this world even though He lived in this world. He wasn't an ordinary person but He lived an ordinary life.
Hebrews 4:15 (NIV)
For we do not have a high priest who is unable to empathize with our weaknesses, but we have one who has been tempted in every way, just as we are—yet he did not sin.
He was an ordinary carpenter who did extraordinary things that is far above human comprehension and most people didn't accept Him because they felt they knew Him.
Thank you for your time.
