It's Not About Oranges... .:. Walk & Talk Series

Yesterday, I had a very pleasant #WednesdayWalk, but I ran out of time to publish the (photo) post, so maybe it will happen next week... We will see... But, during the walk, I recorded a short video, which is perfect for my #WalkAndTalk series! Especially after realizing that I did the last one in October last year!

As usual, you know how I roll... Instead of publishing the video and writing a description in 2-3 sentences, I'm going to do the video and write a full-length post around it... And as usual, I will cover two topics in one post... Why? Well, I have no idea what I'm doing... lol... Instead of reusing a video, I'm compressing multiple posts in one... 😂

Created in Canva.com, with my photo from a walk in the background

Regarding the video, I was talking about the current crypto market state, and reflect about some macro stuff... Somehow, a lot of things that are happening look a bit strange and fake, so I shared my thoughts on that... Check it out!

And the second thing that I became aware of, well after recording this video, is something a lot more personal... As much as I would like to ignore and suppress, I miss the place where I lived before... Oh, I forgot to mention that I recorded the video in my walk around the same orange groves that you may remember from my videos from the past... It's not just oranges...

I wanted to compare what that "secret sauce" is in that area that I miss the most. Yes, the sea is near, the beach, and all that comes with that... In the area where I live currently, we have a few gardens with oranges and lemons, but most trees around are almonds and olives, which are also nice... But, I think that's not the main issue...

Maybe it's about people? Being an introvert, I suppose you know the answer to that... lol... Most friends that I have are far away from me, and I communicate with them over the Internet... But, it could be people... Let me explain...

Coming from a country that doesn't respect natural resources enough, I clearly remember my father's words when they visited Spain for the first time... Despite having a scarcity of water and fertile land, the Spaniards have made the most of it! They build huge artificial lakes to accumulate water during rainy years, as sometimes, rains don't fall for years! Olives, almonds, or oranges are growing almost out of the rock! The soil is too hard and full of iron, so I can't understand how anything can grow at all!

Right there is hiding the title resolution... It's not about oranges... It's not that EVERY PART of Spain is like the one where I lived for 13 years! The part where you will see orange groves in an infinite row, garden by garden, well-maintained, despite the low orange prices... Okay, there are 1 in 10, or 1 in 20 fields that are abandoned, or for sale, but the rest are like the one on the thumbnail photo...

On the other side, the place where I currently live is almost the complete opposite... 1-2 in 10 are "cultivated" gardens, while the rest are abandoned, destroyed, or just turned into waste disposal... Maybe it's not as bad as it sometimes looks when I see some other places around the world where people don't care about their surroundings, polluting their own gardens, and their own homes...

And exactly that pisses me off a lot! How can we be so disrespectful toward nature? How can we pollute and abandon what nature gave us for FREE! Many times, we have no idea how RICH we are, and how a lot we have around us... We are always amazed how OTHERS are RICHER, how the other place is PRETTIER and BETTER... Maybe I'm doing the same today?

Thank you for your time.

Hehe the videos are back! I think now is actually one of the better times to hold or to even buy (after doing homework) because asset prices are likely going to trend up versus fiat over the long term. But that's just my thought. Hahaha.

I agree with you about the long term... NO way that fiat can beat crypto or gold, it's a melting icecube... And regarding accumulation, I will wait a bit more to go harder in... IMO, we have a bit more downside to check before going up... too many macro shit is happening without resolution in the near future (next 4-5 months)...

Yeah agree too, some of the timelines and patterns point to Q4 this year as the bottom. We shall see.

Reading part of your post about motherland differences Spain and your montherland I remembered old song of group Green Grey - Emigrant here is link on it.
English version

And native languages versions too

Of course in different languages it has a little bit different details but main idea the only one for all of them. And I like them all.

Nice rock ballad... ;) I don't have nostalgia for my "motherland", but rather for my previous place of residence here in Spain... For the place where I recorded this video... 😃 Luckily, it's relatively close (1-hour drive), so I can go for a visit and recharge my batteries... :)

I don't care about the oranges too, but the environment, wow! If only we could have such places around here, I'd walk and talk everyday, just as you. 😂

This is absolutely amazing. You know this talk about necessity being the mother of invention, this is just it.

For people destroying the gifts of nature, I hope they live to regret it. And oh, for the crypto talk, I'll pass. 😂

I watched a documentary about the guy who is converting desert soil (sand) into fertile land, just by planting a specific plant (I think it was hemp) at the edge of the desert... After a year, it would plant another row deeper into the desert, and so on... So, even in very hostile surroundings, it is possible to make it better... Only if we as humans want to do it...

Nature is amazing! 😍

This is nice. He's really a genius.

You're right about this. Most of the inventions we have today didn't come easy peasy, but people decided to invest them against all odds.

Indeed, nature always is.
Have a fabulous weekend

It reminds me some part of south Italy where they just leave the orange trees by themselves and don't even harvest them... Why? Because it's not worth it, to sell them they would have to lower so much the price that they would be in loss... So they just abandon fields... I can't totally blame them

I wanted to write about exactly what you just shared, but forgot to do it during the writing process... The same things happen here, but one of the orange grove owners told me that if you don't pick up oranges from the land, the acid from them will "pollute" the soil... After a while, the orange tree kills itself with its own fruit!
So, even if you don't harvest them because of the low price, you have to pick them from the land and dump somewhere... 😔

That thing of the acid ruining the soil is new for me, they leave them all on the ground there...

True that the people and the places we long for stay in our hearts, even when we are surrounded by beauty.

Even strangers can leave a mark... I don't know those garden owners, but I appreciate their work and hustle!

🎉🎉🥳 Congratulations 🥳🎊🎊

Thanks for your curation! Appreciated! 🙏

It takes time, but I agree that we need patience. The markets are in a rough place, but I think it will improve soon enough.

Define "soon" 😀 Just kidding... I'm not expecting too much from the markets until Autumn...

When you see rows of well-maintained trees thriving in hard soil, it represents care, discipline, and pride in what people have. When land is abandoned or treated like a dumping ground, it sends the opposite message. That difference can really affect how a place feels emotionally.

Exactly! It sends a message about the people who live there, and not that much about the nature itself... Even in harsh circumstances, nature can give a lot!
