Sometimes things just happen randomly, by chance or without any future plan or design...today was not one of those things. Rather, it was a premeditated, strategically thought out thing that has been carefully planned and precisely executed and yet not much effort was required.
Me sitting around all day watching television is as common as tits on a bull meaning it happens extremely rarely. It's not that I don't like television per se, just that there's always something else that's more important, more interesting or more valuable to do. It happens though, and today was one of those days; a lazy fucken Sunday
Every year for some sixty years an endurance car racing event has been held in Bathurst, New South Wales on a track that's made up of 6.1 kilometres of public roads closed off for racing events which was first opened in 1938. The track is used for a few different categories throughout the year but it's the V8 Supercars that race this weekend in Australia's biggest race called the Bathurst 1000.
It's a 1,000 kilometre race around a challenging track called Mount Panorama Racing Circuit, 161 laps in total with top speeds of over 305kp/h, which challenges man and machine for hours on end...many many hours. It starts in the morning and runs for most of the day and I'd planned to watch the whole thing, except for the parts when I fell asleep or was off getting snacks, and I was really looking forward to the thrills and spills, the strategies that would unfold and go right or wrong, and the highs and lows of what is a very challenging car race. I was also looking forward to doing nothing else all day which, in my humble opinion, I believe I deserved. Ok, maybe deserved isn't the right word, but it's rare that I have days like this and I was really looking forward to doing nothing much at all....which is pretty much what I did.
Although...If I'm totally honest, I was up early watering my garden and I washed one of my vehicles as well, but come mid-morning I was comfortable on my couch (with a coffee and snacks) watching the lead up to the race start. But, besides that couple hours of work in the morning the day was all about the couch, motor racing and lunch...and snacks. Glorious.
I made tacos for lunch, I know, fucken legit, and even had a couple Corona beers as well. Besides that, I had some other assorted snacks that I probably shouldn't have had, and far too many cups of coffee; what the hell though right? Sometimes one must have lazy days like this, or so I believe.
Later in the day I decided I'd cook a BBQ, some venison I shot a while back, green salad and one more beer and as I sat eating I thought about how productive my day had been deciding really fucken productive summed it up really well.
Do you ever have days like this? I mean those on which you do very little and indulge in one of your passions to the exclusion of other things?

Aaaah, that sounds like a pretty perfect Sunday. Good on ya, mate. But you're right, they don't happen like that very often. And that's our own choice. If we really wanted to we could do that every Sunday, yet if we did, it wouldn't feel that special.
I had quite the unusually productive yet unproductive day myself yesterday. Maybe I'll get something a little more productive done today, not sure yet. And if I don't - heck, it's Sunday!
Yep, I agree in that Sunday's lean themselves towards being perfect for not doing much at all, but most of them I do a lot. Having said that, if I'm doing a lot on a Sunday it is often stuff I want to do like off roading, hiking and other things. It's good to have a lazy one though.
Couldn't agree more. I was about to be quite lazy today but then - I wrote a post, I almost finished a painting (will finish it later) and just now I got back from a bicycle ride in beautiful nature and weather. Perfect!
Seems like a good day.
And the best - it still is, since it is still Sunday here.
Sounds good and the tag for this post is mysterious. Corona beer and barbecue, wow, #M...
Marvellous!
Miraculous! - *particularly this sounds weird in Spanish 😂.
I'd swap the TV for a car racing game I love, a Need For Speed, or something like that. It's been years since I've played that... but many years!

It was a nice relaxing day indeed, I enjoyed it thoroughly.
For me, lazy Sundays are so unusual that I've come to love them 😅
Every now and then, we need one to take a break and continue with life. But more than a lazy Sunday, what you described sounds like an amazing plan!—a day of racing from the comfort of home, wonderful! I try to do the same when there's an interesting Formula 1 GP
Maybe in one of the next six, I'll get to make a little pit stop and have a lazy Sunday 😅
I think it's important to relax like this, do very little and yesterday was my day to do it. I don't get to do that every weekend so enjoy it when possible. I had a good day.
I hope you've had a good weekend.
It was sounding like a near perfect day and when you threw in the tacos...it was fucken legit as you say, a perfect day lol. Everyone needs a day now and then to recharge and reinvigorate our body and our mind. I take a day every week or two to do not what needs doing, but doing what I want to be doing every other day. It could be experimenting in the kitchen, playing with my wool, sewing, reading or learning a new craft or skill. All are very relaxing for me and before I know it, the day is over and it's time to get back to the work waiting outside of my bubble lol
Life is short, shouldn't be wasted, but days like I had yesterday are not a waste, they're a necessity as far as I'm concerned. It's important to recharge, sort of switch off I guess. I get to do it now and then and always find value. (And tacos right? Yum!)
Yes of course I have had days like that, in my case they can coincide with Saturday or Sunday or Thursday which is a family day... pizza!
For example today I had planned a visit to a museum, there is a new exhibition and a great walk in a park, but it's finally raining after months and I'm very happy about it, I love the rain! So maybe I'll stay at home relaxing a bit, doing things I like to do or just nothing hahaha.
If it stops raining... I'm going out!
Don't be a baby, go out in the rain! 😀
🤣 But... if I take pictures... they'll be shitty pictures hahahahaha
There's a community for them.
I will take your suggestion into account... and I will not be a baby.😂
Hi Galen, I also have those days when I don't feel like doing anything. The only problem is that they don't necessarily have to coincide with a day off. In fact they rarely coincide with a day off. And that, as I say, is a problem (a problem that happens rarely).
I tend to be quite motivated on the days I have to work; sure, there's always the thought of staying in bed or that there's something I'd rather be doing, but I guess over the years I've developed ways to get motivated. On days I don't work I do the same as I usually have things to do but today it was all about the couch and that car race.
I usually get up early and already have my day planned. I even plan the days I give myself as free, for the 22nd I have already bought tickets for an exhibition and booked a table in a restaurant. But once in a while it happens. I work in something I like, so those days are very rare, but when they happen, after some day of shocks, it doesn't usually coincide with Saturday or Sunday. So, the motivation comes from the side of obligation and respect for the people I see. But I still feel the desire for another day to begin.
Nope...
Not gonna happen anytime soon. Too many "to do's" on the TDL.
But I will enjoy this short time to live vicariously thru your posting about a lazy Sunday that really did not sound all that lazy.
Quick breakdown of my not so fucken lazy way to bizzy Sun Day Fun Day.
By 12:01 am Sunday I was on the return trip home from Pensacola FLA.
I had driven the 300 miles over Saturday evening and was finished with my drop and hook just before midnight. At 5 am I pulled into my yard. (Foto) Crawled to my bed slept three hours. Went to help a neighbor troubleshoot his vehicles charging system. Went back to bed from 10 am till 2 pm. Then worked on the metal roofing till dark. (8 pm)

L👀k @ that most awesome 🙀catio coop🙀 Fucking Aye Diddly Tweed.!!
Back to bed at 9 and up at 2 am this monday morning to deliver where I sit and type this in Orlando FLA with some much needed building supplies.
A day in the life of a @krazzytrukker.
Busy as fuck man, hopefully you're looking after your health as well.
Spoiler.?? I do not even know how that got in there. But I went and edited it.
Funny you should say that bro.
You know a lottle (LOTTLE=More than a LITTLE) about leg issues if my memory serves me well.
I awoke from a short power nap on Friday afternoon to 5. Count em with me... 1!2!3!4!..
Fucking FIVE.!!
Severe 🦵 leg 🦵 cramps.
4 of em in one leg, left toes, calf, Quadriceps, Front and back. All the fucking quads were fighting each other. Talk about a brutal 5-10 minutes. I was moaning and groaning. Worst I have ever had. Kelly came running in. She got me some pickle juice to drink.
Only the calf was cramping in my right leg.
Ladders and roofers yoga.
This getting old shit just SUCKS.!!
Agreed, but getting old is inevitable. Craps suck man, can be agonising. Hope it's sorted itself out.
Haha we definitely all had such days. It's a nice way to rest and recharge, and our minds get to take a break too!
I totally agree; bring on more Sundays!
That's the good thing about weekends, you don't feel like doing anything, just enjoying the day, doing what you like, I congratulate you for giving yourself that day, well deserved, of course.🔥☺️
Weekend's are so great, the best time of the week!
Seems legit. I enjoy cooking meat outside. I do it like five or six times during summer. I would do it more often but firewood is quite expensive.
We're in spring with summer just around the corner so I'll cook a BBQ probably two to three times a week, maybe more. It's easier, and more fun.
Yeah man, sometimes you just have to treat yourself right!? especially in our busy lives, I don't like being lazy every day and usually get restless and always find a things in the house to repair or clean or something like that, but as you said, sometimes on rare occasions it can actually be very nice!
It's not really being lazy to be honest, it's called self care, relaxing. I think it's irresponsible not to do that.
haha 😁 yeah well, you're not wrong, you have to take good care of yourself, someone else won't and can't!
Absolutely.
Especially when the day of the weekend comes after a hard work week, when I crawl into bed with a book, a mobile phone and a TV remote control and don't leave the house all day. Even if it happens to be a rainy day, ideal 😁
Sometimes I also prepare such a "lazy" day for myself on Sunday, when my Saturday was filled with activities or when I went on a day trip and came back late (like yesterday)... One thing today was not rainy weather and after I finished everything about household duties, I went out for another walk.
It's good to recharge right?
Sometimes it is very necessary.
So the next day, I have the impression that I can fly 🙂
I plan on sitting on the couch and watching football the rest of the day today, but the amount of stuff I got done before noon more than makes up for it!
That's the way to do it I reckon, get something done early and then relax for the rest of the day.

Why was my post muted? 🥺
Because you didn't read the rules of the community, or ignored them, and posted into the community in dual language. I don't give warnings usually, I expect people to care enough to understand the rules of a community prior to posting in there. That means, the responsibility is on you to know and understand them.
Thanks for answering me @galenkp, if it's my mistake I totally apologize! Yes, I read them and thought about publishing on hivepets, but I liked having the opportunity to diversify into another community that forgot to delete the Spanish part! You'll see that it won't happen again. The publication is already here. Thank you for answering me. Happy night!
If you edit the post (and title) into English I'll unmute it and probably give it a vote. I have to uphold the rules in my communities though, to be fair to everyone.
