There is no doubt that the South Island of New Zealand has become one of the most popular destinations in the world, and its inviting sceneries are just some of the reasons that people love to visit. The region has a number of natural wonders that are worth exploring. The Southern Alps, with their towering peaks, teeming glaciers, and deep valleys, offers visitors a chance to experience unrivaled views and breathtaking scenery while enjoying outdoor activities like hunting, fishing, or hiking.
Queenstown Lake- The most picturesque lake I've seen! After visiting this beautiful place, I can't imagine anyone not falling in love with it.
Many backpackers come to New Zealand as part of the working holiday. The South of New Zealand is a great destination to look for seasonal work in the fruit and wine industries which are plentiful in the region or hospitality jobs. A few years ago, when I was still living in New Zealand, many backpackers were going to the south island for cherry and blueberry season. My friend and I also visited the south island during that time. In addition to exploring Queenstown for a few days, we spent a month living in the remote town of Roxburgh. We worked a lot and traveled all around the South whenever we had a day off during that time, it was the most memorable time w had. We experienced a fantastic summer eating the best fruit, hiking the most stunning trails in the south, and doing so many other activities during our time there.
Lake near our hostel in Roxburgh. We often came here after work
We spent the majority of our time exploring the South Island. and Invercargill was one of the many gorgeous places we visited in New Zealand's south. Invercargill, New Zealand is one of the most southern cities in the world. It's located on the east coast of the South Island of New Zealand and has a population of about 58,000. It is built on a coastal plain in the southwest corner of the Southland region at the southern end of South Island. Its port is located on Otepuni Lagoon to the west of the city’s center.
While many people may not know where the southernmost city is, the city of Invercargill has gained recognition for its arts and culture scene. The city center is very compact and has a lively arts scene, with various galleries and museums to visit.
Invercargill is the southernmost city in the country and is surrounded by lush countryside. A small city in the south of New Zealand, Invercargill is famous for its scenery and its expansive countryside with rolling hills and rivers. It's also home to the southern hemisphere's hottest springtime temperatures so visitors can enjoy an outdoorsy day!
Bluff, the southernmost suburb of Invercargill, is home to an unexpected adventure. The name derives from the steepness of its hills, which are more pronounced on the Bluffs’ southern end. Many different types of flora and fauna inhabit this area that has been designated as a nature reserve by the Department of Conservation./sup>
Invercargill is a city in New Zealand renowned for its dramatic scenery, friendly people, and rich history. Visitors to the city are often blown away by the breathtaking views that one can enjoy from almost anywhere in the city. Queen Park is the public space within the city limits that we stopped by and had an enjoyable time walking around the park. I love everything about the garden, especially the rose bushes. The flowers were so beautiful, every color imaginable, and they smelled so sweet. With all the colors, shapes, and sizes of roses, it's hard to pick my favorite one. Queen Park Invercargill is a public park in Invercargill and was named after Queen Victoria. I thought that this park is an excellent destination for having picnics, family outings, or just getting outdoors to be one with nature. After strolling around, we stopped by at a lovely Thai restaurant in the town for lunch. Numerous cafes and restaurants can be found in the center of town that you won't be disappointed. 😋 The World's most southern Starbuck- @Sunnyvo 😅 The trip was so much fun and we had such an amazing time exploring the southernmost city, we also stopped and enjoyed some of the scenery on the way back home. I couldn't imagine a better way to spend our day off from work! 💖 Travel Memory: Feb 2018

Cool to see this, through the eyes of someone who has actually been there.
I'm actually from Denmark, but living in the USA, yet one of the places I once thought I might settle was New Zealand, and Invercargill was on my "short list," being almost as far south as Denmark is north.
Thank you @denmarkguy. It was a perfect place to settle down and I was absolutely in love with the landscape and everything there. I also enjoyed the weather. Although I'm from a tropical state, I didn't find it too cold. The beautiful memories of my life in New Zealand remain vivid in my mind even after I left the country in early 2019. It was the best time of my life.
I've seen Denmark through the movies and love to visit it in the future. In a few of my favorite films, the Danish countryside is portrayed as a place of serene beauty and delightful simplicity. This has blown me away.
Yay! 🤗

Don't be silly! Nobody is allowed to visit New Zealand, not even overseas citizens like myself. When was this post written, 2018?
Hi @drutter, thanks for stopping by. Do you mean nobody is allowed to travel to NZ at the moment? The same here in Viet Nam and other countries around the world due to the pandemic, but I do believe the borders are going to open again soon.
This is a throwback to a trip I took to New Zealand a few years ago. 🙂
Thank you for the tour of this city :D Now i want to go to :p

Incredible scenery unlike I've seen anywhere else!
The water is crystal clear. The impressive mountaintops hover behind the pine treeline. Sandy white beaches. Tourist attractions. Architecture. Restaurants. Your amazing post bumped New Zealand several notches higher on my vacation destination bucketlist!
How long altogether were you in New Zealand? What time of year did you vacation? @trangbaby

The picturesque landscape, the laid-back people and the cultural diversity all come together to create a brilliant holiday destination. If you have never been, you need to make it happen. 😍

oh I only spent a couples of days there with @sunnyvo, not a lot to see though as we did a woofing that time. All we saw was sheep, mushrooms and tomatoes.
When I have a chance to go back there, I will go to the places that you listed on this post :)
Haha, now that you mentioned the woofing, it was so funny 🤣
How was it? I bet you guys ate a lot of good organic foods? 😂
Oh yes, we started with picking up chicken eggs in the morning, then find some mushrooms in the fields, then tomatoes garden. The landlord is a fisherman too so he prepared fresh fish sashimi for us. Sunny actually made a really good mushroom soup for our lunch Yummm
I always wanted to visit New Zealand. I have a college friend who is a Filipino who also lives there not sure where exactly but she shared some of the most beautiful photos of the country. The photos you shared are amazing. Nice to see you beautiful friends too!
I met lots of Filipino friends when I was in NZ.
