Our ship was en route to Port Kembla carrying iron ore from Port Hedland, Australia. It took 15 days to reach Port Kembla as the weather conditions is not good.
As we are nearing Port Kembla I was a little bit anxious as to how can I communicate with the people. I am concerned about my English vocabulary I may run out of English words to use.
In the three days leading up to our arrival at Port Kembla, the seas are rough and confused causing our ship to roll/pitch and heave continuously. I didn't feel good in this area of the world as I get dizzy and there are a lot of times I want to puke. A weather disturbance in the area is the culprit and the winter season is near. In winter prevailing winds shift and waves become higher and more frequent. Luckily rough seas were no match for our ship as we carried iron ore from Port Hedland to Port Kembla.
When the visibility is clear I saw a group of whales beside our ship. My crewmate says whales/dolphins like to play with our vessel, sometimes they want to outrun the vessel or play with the bow of the ship.
Our ship passed inside the rainbow and I was amazed at how beautiful to see a rainbow up close. My senior officers are joking that it may be a portal to another dimension or there's a treasure on the other side of the rainbow. It took about half an hour before it fades. I am hoping to see more magnificent events like this.
That rainbow shot is the money shot. I think post processing will brighten the colours plus then again the raw quality of the pic is also its draw in.
Yeah, you're right I need to learn new skills in editing.
Yeah, always good to play with your photos, it is easier to get things done even with phone apps.
