On our third day at Mallorca, it was time to explore a little more of the island. We had a rental car for this vacation and drove to Fornalutx after breakfast.

Fornalutx is a picturesque town nestled in the Tramuntana mountain range on the island of Mallorca, Spain. Renowned for its charming streets, traditional stone houses, and stunning natural surroundings, Fornalutx is often considered one of the most beautiful villages in Spain.

The town's architecture reflects its Moorish and medieval past, with narrow cobblestone streets winding through well-preserved buildings adorned with vibrant flowers and climbing vines. The central square, Plaça d'Espanya, is a delightful spot to relax and enjoy the local atmosphere, surrounded by cafes and restaurants offering a taste of authentic Mallorcan cuisine.

Afterwards, we wanted to see the Mediterranean Sea and drove to Port de Sollér. Port de Sollér is a charming coastal village located on the northwest coast of Mallorca, Spain. Nestled within a horseshoe-shaped bay, it is surrounded by the dramatic Tramuntana mountains, creating a breathtaking backdrop. The village is renowned for its scenic harbor, lined with colorful buildings, fishing boats, and waterfront promenades.

The port area is a hub of activity, featuring a variety of restaurants, cafes, and shops. Visitors can enjoy fresh seafood, traditional Mallorcan dishes, or simply relax with a drink while taking in the stunning views of the Mediterranean Sea. The historic tram, dating back to the early 20th century, connects Port de Sollér with the town of Sollér, offering a delightful and nostalgic journey through picturesque landscapes.

On our way back, we also stopped at Sollér. This place, located inland from Port de Sollér, is a charming town surrounded by citrus orchards and lush valleys. The town is known for its well-preserved architecture, including grand manor houses and a central square adorned with cafes and the iconic Church of Sant Bartomeu.

One of Sollér's distinctive features is its historic wooden train, the Ferrocarril de Sollér, which connects the town with Palma de Mallorca. The scenic train journey takes passengers through the Tramuntana mountains, providing stunning views of the landscapes. Additionally, the vintage tram connects Sollér with the coastal village of Port de Sollér.

Sollér is famous for its citrus fruits, particularly oranges, and the town hosts an annual Fira des Taronja (Orange Fair) to celebrate the citrus harvest. The lively market, held in the main square, showcases local produce, crafts, and traditional delicacies.
