Prompt provided by @mariannewest
She rolled up her brightly colored beach towel and stuffed it in her tote bag. This is the day she’d been waiting for all week. It was time to head to the beach and unwind. This time no friends would accompany — complete me time.
And how needed this was because her last couple months were packed. Work had overbooked a few projected, good for business but did not lead to a healthy work-life balanced.
Still she pulled through it and now it was time. Alone time with the waves. Alone time in the sand that was too hot to walk on. Alone time with the waves crashing on the shore. Alone time. Period.
As she parked her car, she grabbed her beach bag and slowly meandered to where the water rolled toward land. As the water’s noise grew, the calm she’d expected seeped in.
Walking a little, she searched for the perfect spot. In between other smaller groups of adults relaxing in the sun, but away from families enjoying the early afternoon. Designating her space, she laid down the towel and sank into its warmth. Closing her eyes, a smile touched her lips.
This is the moment to relish.
Good post
