For the first time in almost three years, I'm getting to make posts through my phone. This is something I thought that I've left behind due to how stressful I find it to be. There's nothing easy about it and it can be frustrating and especially hard on the neck. But then what can I do? It's not like I have a choice at the moment.

On Monday, my laptop simply packed up while I was working with it. Shortly after I made my post and got some other work done, I was about to shut it down when it just went blank. At first, I thought that it had gone to sleep and was punching keys left and right like a confused person. It remained stubbornly blank.

I was forced to force the system to shut down, hoping that a cold booting will bring it back to life. It did come on, all the indicator lights were there but the screen remained blank. Just stubborn and blank. At that point, I knew that something was wrong and I was just frustrated. I felt like closing up the laptop and smashing it against the wall. That would have been foolish and it would not have felt so great five minutes later.

But then, in the laptop's defense, this is only the second time I'm fixing it even though I've used it for more than four years now. The first time was the keyboard which had to be changed, that was about a year ago. Now it's the display that's the issue. The laptop is working perfectly but the screen is not showing anything at all. So, if you ask me, the laptop was just about due for some form of maintenance.

I would have gone to fix it yesterday, because my laptop is my office and my headquarters. However, I had my CBT exams which I mentioned in the post on Monday. I had to postpone fixing the laptop while I went to school to sit the test. With the reputation the CBT had given in the past, I knew better than to think I would make it back with enough time to head into town and fix the laptop.

As expected, I finished the test too late and when I got home, I simply made my post on my phone which was for the first tine in a very long time. Took me back to my early hive days when I was making posts through my phone. Back then, I had to write out the posts with pen and paper before copying it into my phone, word for word. It was always a hassle. But then, I would also try to meet up word counts which usually ends up falling short.

However with the laptop, I learned how to type on the go. I learned how to formulate my posts without having to write them out first. I simply stare at my screen and begin to punch in letters and before you know it, a story is born. Now that my laptop is spoilt, I'm getting to learn that making posts on my phone is not so bad after all. It's kinda of easy and with the way I'm fast in the keys and my fingers fly over each letter, I'm not really bad at this in any way. And one resounding benefit, I can make the post anywhere at all.

I'm currently at the engineer's shop, trying to fix the laptop. The price they're calling us quite steep, N15k just to fix it, I don't even know how to beg the guy. He must think I'm Elon Musk's relative. Anyway, I know how important it is to me, so I'll have to make it work by any means necessary. While I can make posts with my phone, I don't think I can write an entire book with it.

Anyway, this was a setback and also a lesson. I've learned that I really can make my post anywhere at all. In the bathroom, in the bank, at the airport or even in the plane. Technology has made it so damn easy and I don't have to open a laptop every time I want to share my thoughts with the Hive community. So this is beautiful, if only it were a little cheaper.

Anyway, this is the second post I'm making on my phone and I hope that by tomorrow, I'll be able to make it on my laptop once more. I've missed that my sweet baby, I have to say. But it's all good. I hope I don't have to work on the laptop again for another while. I guess only time will tell.

Same story with every one that's used to using a PC. You just don't easily feel like using your phone, but it's not so bad as you've seen. Anyway, that guy has really tried for you sir. Four years is not bread and beans... The laptop guy better not fumble on top that cost

Omo...
It's not easy, the story keeps getting more interesting as it unfolds. I'm just tired at this point...

I can relate to you as I also faced a similar situation a few months ago when my monitor stopped responding all of a sudden. It's irritating for anyone.

As in ehn... It's so frustrating. Especially when you're limited on what you can do.

At laptop things looked difficult to me. I'm addicted of using mobile instead of laptop. You are lucky you recovered your laptop. I lost it when kids were playing and throwing it towards each other.

Wow... I'll have to learn how to do things easier on phone. It's so easy and on-the-go. I love it

I have never used PC to write on hive or anywhere. Most PC users always attest that phone is a hassle when it comes to making a post with it. Like seriously, it's as easy as ABC for me. I use to write on a paper before typing on my phone but that was during my early days on hive. Now I just write directly anywhere.
Omo, soft 15k...in this Tpain regime... nawaoo, so sorry bro! I hope the engineer fix your baby laptop soon

Omo...
In this TPain regime I just want to cry. But what can I do? I can't allow this to persist na. It's impossible.
So, I have no choice.
