All Days Are Perfect... Allegedly.

A perfect day for me? Well, with everything that’s going on right now in my life, it won’t be difficult to figure it out. For me, I’m not even asking for much because, with everything that is happening, I don’t have the strength to ask for much. I don’t like stress and if I can take that off my plate, then I’m a step closer to having my perfect days.

Of course, a stress-free day is not enough to make it a perfect day, but then, it can also give it a close 80%. And for my kind of person, an introvert who loves reading, writing, and watching movies, a perfect day would be one where I get to indulge in everything I love just for the hell of it and not because I’m trying not to starve.

So, what really is a perfect day for me? Any day that I don’t have to go to school or do any work is perfect for me. Unlike most people, Mondays are usually as close to perfect as possible for me unlike other days of the week. This is because, on most Mondays, I don’t usually have much work to do. And thankfully, this semester, I don’t even have lectures on Mondays as well. So, I can sleep in on Mondays and use it to do whatever it is that I like.

My weekends are not usually that fun-filled, I’m afraid. Because I usually have a lot of work to do then mostly because most of my deadlines are usually over the weekend, so I’m always working double to make sure that everything is as it should be. After all, no freelancer likes an unsatisfied client. They’re bad for business.

But having the day to myself is not just going to do it for me, I’ll also want to do things simply because I want to do them. These days, I find myself getting tired of writing because many times I’m writing not because I have things to say, but because I need the money that comes from these gigs. I have to run edits and rewrites and also deal with some really annoying clients and many times, it takes the joy out of something I love doing.

So, if I didn’t have to think of those things for a while, then I would have a perfect day. Funny enough, while it sounds like I’m complaining about writing, writing also helps me escape. This blog I make daily helps me air out most of the thoughts I hold inside. No matter what it is I’m thinking, I just come on here and write it all out. That way, I’m still doing it because I love it and I still value it.

So, when I think of a perfect day, I see myself waking up late and staying in bed till noon. If I do get to get off the bed, it would be to grab the remote and turn on the TV for some movies which would be played at a murderously loud volume. Then I’ll grab something to eat. Then I’ll watch some more movies. Maybe sometime around six, I’ll do some writing, and some reading and round off the day with some more movies before I return to sleep. I won’t think about making money, I won’t think about working, and I sure as hell won’t think about going to school. I would do nothing.

Perfect days only come once in a while, so when I get it, I’ll use it to the fullest capacity because I know for sure that by the next day, it’s back to work for me. When I have days like this, I always find myself happy to bounce back to work and I’m usually in a better mood. I like making money, and I for sure love dealing with my clients, no matter how difficult they are. It’s called doing business. So, as long as we’re making each other happy, I guess every day is a perfect day for me. Hehe…
